ok seriously everyone knows the 405 is always packed...who the hell drives that fast in the slow lane not knowing the traffic ahead is slowing down....was she on her phone?
I know she seriously wasn't paying attention.... Not sure about the charge/s would it be vehicular homicide or manslaughter ? or whatever they feel they can charge her with, keep in mind, there are certain details that have not yet been released to the public.... such as, was she on the phone ? did she say she fell asleep? mechanical failure ...etc...So far they have ruled out alcohol and drugs.

Yea...a 2007 Land Rover having technical problems....I certainly doubt that, plus was it the Range Rover or Discovery?
Yikes....I would certainly like to see how this all pans out ~ so sad!!!! But after reading everything else - how can you NOT tell the difference between a 45 speed zone and a 65 mph? Especially on a highway you have probably driven often?
I am sorry, too many innocent people die on the highway everyday to do others negliegence.
I have no idea about California law, but this is so tragic esp for the family who lost their loved one..

It's awful for the family. I really hope she wasn't on the phone or negligent. If she was, I hope they throw the book at her. Personally, I'm fed up with drivers who don't pay attention, read books, play cards, put on makeup while driving.
That said, I've been in accidents where I got hit by 4 cars (yes 4). I had to sudden slow down and the guys behind me just didn't make the stop in time and it turned into a careening mess. I can totally see how this happens in places where the volume of traffic is high and people tune out for a second. Either way, it's incredibly unfortunate.

My first thought was that Brandy was probably on her phone and just not paying attention. It will be interesting to see what is revealed as the accident investigation is completed.

The thing that bothers me is that how can you not be paying attention on the freeway? It's the FREEWAY!
It's always important to be aware of what's gong on but you need to be especially alert when you're on the freeway.
