How about a couple of new reference threads?

I'm waiting to see if Vlad will open a Reference Library. . . if he will we can have one thread per designer. If he's not up for it I'll have to compile some designers together. That's why I haven't started too many just yet:yes:

Depends what you need to know sweetness,I can cover from formation and on if you want. When it gets up to the 'big boys' you're right its Mikimoto, once described to me by the rep as having 'lustre like stardust and as silky feeling as a new born babe' awww, still makes me smile that, was said by a 6' guy!! And he went all wistful when he said it!!! THAT is loving what you do!!!

But you can score great pearls, depends on what you want to compromise on,shape, size, color lustre, they have a grading system not dissimilar to diamonds. So you can make informed choices and remain in control of the quality you want to pay for.
Your description of Mikimoto pearls is making me swoon:love: This topic sounds great for a reference thread, if we get approval. When I wanted to upgrade my diamond, I learned everything I could, to make an informed choice. I would like to learn about pearls in the same way. I would like to feel confident that I could make a purchase with a solid knowledge base. I am not ready to make this purchase, as I've more than spent my jewelry budget, but never too soon to learn, yes?

Nope, never too soon to learn!! I still learn things about stones and jewellery now,its and endlessly fascinating and evolving subject. It can be quite vast, but it depends what you want to 'pick' from it.I am always fascinated by Mother Nature herself, and all the varieties, inclusions, provenance and of course the romance and historical attachments that come with it!!

Since the pearls thread is pics only and I don't want to threadjack this one, how shall we start our Pearls 101 Training Class:s

Chaz, start a new one, I'll stick it for you! That way it's an easy "go to" reference thread for us:tender:

Can you guys believe I'm already deleting people chatting in our new reference threads? They're not even 24 hours old yet! LOL!

DO NOT post in those threads unless you're psoting a PHOTO please!:tender:

Thanks Swanky and Chaz. We're not permitted to discuss pearls on PS and this would be a really good place to open up this topic:tup:

 give us a schoolin' Chaz baby!

unrelated - risingsun, I am on PS looking at the ragdoll thread. . . I'm itchy looking at them but those kitties are SOOOO cute!

^I just stuck them temporarily so I could find them very quickly and move them. Vlad is awesome and he granted me my wish, we should have a sub-forum soon! This is also why I haven't started any new ones.

Marian, I am a little allergic to cats:cry:
