I have known 6 people through the years that have had weight loss surgery. The results were as follows.
One who had it done when she was about 19 gained back the weight in three years.
One when I met and was chubby and then got very fat. He was quite short too.
One is super skinny and has been for the past 15 years but is a alcoholic and drinks versus eating and looks unhealthy.
One is very healthy thin looking and told me that it is a day to day struggle. She does not know if any food she eats will make her sick. She can eat a certain food one day and be find but the next day get a reaction from it. She is happy with her results. She also had a not super fast weight loss.
One still looks a bit chubby but seems to have some vitamin/nutritional issues with major hair loss.
And the last one has lost about 150 pounds in just over a year and looks great but has been in the hospital a few times with digestive issues. And also getting sick from eating foods never knowing when a food will make them sick.
While this can be a last chance or a quick fix for many people it is not the Magic answer. One has to learn how to eat properly and have skills. To to go back to their previous way of eating. As for hard work I do not think weight loss surgery is hard work versus people who do it naturally. I do not watch Mama June's shows and think it is a joke she is being sold as some major weight loss wonder. You have surgery and you can't eat more than xx amount of food. I have also noticed in some possible unphotoshoped pictures after her upper arm surgery her arms from the elbow to wrist actually look bigger then her upper arms and her fingers still are very chubby. I would think she has to feel so much better but it is sad that even through her journey her kids still have horrible habits and will probably have so many health problems if they do not already. At this point you look at her kids and their thirst for fame and juts think how messed up this whole family is.
It might be easy now to think you are at a goal but only how one lives in the future will the true results be shown. I remember seeing a magazine article on the previous contestants of the biggest loser and how many if not all of them gained their weight back.
