Historical Coach... has anyone seen it?

One of my Chelsea bags came with a card that mentioned how the leather was like the original Coach baseball mitt leather. I will try to find that later and see if there is more info.
I think glove tanning is a common leather tanning method. It may have started because of tanning actual gloves, but that term isn't just used by Coach.
Just a warning about that link - the "Spot Fake Coaches Guide" is LOADED with false statements and misinformation. Plese NEVER use what that site owner has published as an accurate guide to whether or not a Coach is fake!

Not all Coaches have C patterns that are left-right mirror images
Not all Coaches will have serial numbers made up of numbers AND letters, in fact NONE made before 1994 will even include letters.
Current Coach dustbags are NOT brown with red trim
NOT ALL COACHES HAVE YKK ZIPPERS. Coach has also used Eclair, Talon and RISI zippers on their bags.
This "Guide" is an example of why we always tell posters to ignore most of what they read in these internet "guides" - most of them are out of date or just plain wrong.

Be aware though, Bonnie Cashin is labled incorrectly MOST of the time in these listing. Do your homework first...many of the bags are Cashin remakes and lovely, but not original Cashin.

Coach did not start making bags until the 1960's.. Bonnie Cashin was hired by them in 1960 but was commited to other projects until 1962 when she stared at Coach..
Her orginal bags are amazing. She was an amazing designer and her all her work was excellent.. I hope to won one of the bags she designed for Coach, while she was at Coach someday but you can say that is my HG because they are few and far between and get quite expensive...
