She is so pretty and has amazing skin. I hope her new album is a smash. I have never seen her in anything! I don't watch much TV or movies...but am tempted to check something out after reading this thread.
I have been (peripherally) around professional hockey for about 25 years. I heard, on three different occasions, stories about Mike's other gal. Each time I asked the group gossiping, "For goodness sakes why didn't someone say something to her before they were married or at least before there was a child?" Each time I was practically laughed at and told a version of, 'Several of us tried, she shut down the conversations down so fast, we have all come to believe she doesn't want to know.'
I wasn't surprised that they married young and started a family, that is very much the culture of professional hockey. It is very family orientated and frankly, a bit old fashioned and male dominated.
So, it's pure rumor and speculation, but it does make sense that if the other girl finally threw down an ultimatum, that is the reason for the split. With him retiring from hockey, it would be a good time to make her move. As heartbreaking as it, I think this dog will never change, so while I am glad they are playing nice...I am really hoping she isn't hoping to get back. That was always her draw: the easy, sane one.

I find all of this talk about her marriage so confusing. If she knew Mike was cheating on her, why did she bother marrying him? And why bring a child into that kind of situation?

I agree, it boggles the mind. I have a theory but it is pure conjecture on my part. Like I said, I do not know them and what I heard was gossip, 100 %...but it was from people in position to know them, I heard it 3 times (different occasions), and it was exactly what the previous poster said...so it tends to make me believe it. But, I know from whom I heard it and no, I am not willing to share. I am not worried about being outed; as I said I heard it on 3 separate occasions and as I said am only a peripheral. It does seem, as the previous poster mentioned, pretty widely talked about and acknowledged and as hard as it is to believe, but that is the way hockey culture is. I just thought I would share because when I read it in the thread...I went, 'oh yeah! I remember that.' I felt bad when so many people were giving the other poster a hard time...I just read this thread over the last week, so that is why I didn't respond then, but actually I am glad I didn't see it then. One of the things I considered when debating to post was that they were already split.
Anywho, like I said, it is gossip and y'all don't know me, just as you didn't know the other gal. It's not particularly nice and something I usually tend to try and explain away. I just saw that it was talked about quite a bit, so I would pass along what I had heard, take it with a big grain of salt.
I was typing while you were...just wanted to say, I really did debate about to post or not...in the end, the fact that they have split was my deciding nudge.
I don't consider this information, especially in this instance to be inconsiderate. There were blind items about this for goodness sakes. It is not like our little forum is groundbreaking news.

She is not as innocent as everyone claims her to be! Its not my business so I wont air it out but I do have family/friends who know the deal behind their "situation" its really weird and quite sad. I was shocked.
lolol there probably is someone else on this board who is comfortable airing that info out but im not. I was just saying that sometimes what is played out in public isn't the truth.
she probably thought that she could get away with having an arrangement with him where he sleeps with other people... nothing wrong with that, lots of people i'm sure have open marriages and dead bedroom-type situations and they can be great parents.
they probably realized that in theory this is a lot easier than it is in practice and she probably realized she wanted a life of her own. too late now because they have a kid together, but they seem to behaving civilly.

She's young, no matter their reasons were for splitting, it's not too late.It's too late in that she cannot completely break free of Mike and ignore him the rest of her life because they have a kid together. She will always have to deal with him. The same wouldn't be true if they did not have a child.
To their credit at leas publicly they are behaving civilly which is he right thing to do especially since there is a child involved.
Even if they get back together there really is no going back to exactly how things were before.
