Also, Hilary has dealt with rude things being said about her career her whole life, I think this was the final straw haha.

Nooo... Hilary may live to regret those comments. Faye has proven her acting abilities and is a well known, well respected actress, something Hilary hasn't quite accomplished yet. I wish she would've been more gracious and mature about it all and would've chosen not to comment or to say that Faye is entitled to her opinion and she hopes to prove her wrong or something like that. I guess in the moment she felt belittled/insulted and retaliated. I have a feeling she's wishing she didn't now.
It's hard to keep your cool all the time. I think Hilary's a really classy girl but she's only 21 and I live with 29 girls of the same age, and I know that no matter how hard we try sometimes catty things just slip out.
I agree that she will probably/is regretting that comment but what's done is done and hopefully she'll do a great job in the movie so she doesn't end up being embarassed.

ITA. But I think her comeback comments weren't that harsh. I think she played it off like "I don't really care" when she said "I don't think my fans know who she is" because really her fans are the younger crowds who may not know who the original is. Which is a fact.
But I totally think she has the right to be a little feisty back. I mean, her just being quiet doesn't always mean she's taking the higher road. I think what Faye said was really dirty and Hilary doesn't have to take someone walking all over her that way. I think she's proven herself to be very good at what she does and obviously the director chose her for a reason.
^very true, i can't blame her for hitting back. it's really tough to hold your tongue in a situation like that. even still, i wish she had it, would've been AWESOME to see her positively OWN

The feud in a nutshell: Dunaway said Duff wasn’t a real actress and Duff called Dunaway ugly.
On the Bonnie Hunt Show, Hilary, 21, explains, “She started acting way later than I did so I think I have time to grow and grow with each project. I am learning and work hard at my craft… [What I said was mean but] it’s not okay for people to take stabs at you and to say mean things for no reason.”
