I get some kind of a cognitive dissonance from Meredith. She looks like a regular mom, you know, just very normal in every way, but she's shopping like some multi billionaire princess from Saudi Arabia. Yes she owns some kind of a company but it's not Apple or Facebook or anything. She seems nice but I hope she does something more substantial with her money in addition to buying every bag under the sun like they're Pokémon cards.

A quick list of influencers I’ve come across and what I think about them - hope this is helpful in-case you’re looking for something to watch!

Influencers I enjoy

Cassie Thorpe
  • I like her and her content a lot but I do believe she got her mini Kelly in NY as a result of her online presence (her Birkin I don’t think so just because of the wishlist system in UK can be random)
LVLoverCC
  • Not that big of a collection but I like that she doesn’t take shopping so seriously; she shops where she wants and buys what she wants
Super Dacob
  • Not quite a haul/influencer but I enjoy his content
A chic maven
  • Hasn’t posted in a minute do to her full-time job but I do like how she has a really good selection from all categories
Tamara
  • Obviously has a relationship with the house but I like her videos
Lalli Mirza
  • Has veered away from shopping hauls and I know she may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I like her videos
Maymay Seven
  • On instagram only, I think she may be connected to Laos royalty and has quite a collection so take a look
Rinkys
  • On instagram only, but has quite a collection of all categories so take a look
Kristina Braly
  • I like her videos and I like that her relationship with the brand relative to her lifestyle is authentic and relatable
Haya Glamazon
  • Doesn’t really have an Hermes collection but I like her story times
Living lux with Meredith
  • I think she has a bit of a collecting issue but all of her stuff seems to be authentic and I like a good haul just as much as anyone
Sophie Shohet
  • Not and Hermes influencer at all but worth a mention because I like her content a lot and I think if you like the above creators I think you would enjoy her too

Influencers I am ambivalent on (but that’s just me)

Alyssa Lenore
  • I find her content dull and repetitive and I think she got all her offers as a result of being an influencer but does have a good collection
Erica’s Girly World
  • Has quite a bit of a collection but I find her to be annoying
Lydia Elise Millen
  • Has a few collection of resale mini Kelly’s but she’s trying so hard to become something she’s not
DoubleVanilla
  • Successful in getting bags but there is something about her that rubs me wrong
Fashionably Amy
  • First of all, and idk if this is just me, but I really don’t like when people try so hard to pronounce the French way of saying items and do it over and over again, it just grates on me. Also and I also don’t know if this makes sense, but its like she wants the bags too much
Maria Draganova
  • Only has 1 bag from resale but she did try for a while to get one from boutique and obviously cannot afford the lifestyle she portrays (makes me question her income stream)
HRH collection
  • Obviously trolling but her videos are not pleasant to watch and there’s speculation that she has fakes
StyledbyShishi
  • On tiktok and has a decent collection and entertaining videos but if you look up her past and the lifestyle she’s promoting its actually shameful
Clairebanks
  • Shameful past and she comes across very inauthentic
Purseonfleek
  • Enough has already been said but her old videos might be worth a watch
Je suis Lou
  • Pretty girl but the way she got Birkin after birkin after birkin all from her SA in a short period of time with limited pre-spend is really suspect

Influencers that I don’t have a judgment on (yet)

Mel in Melbourne
  • I like some of her videos but its hit and miss
Sasa Zoe
  • Only watched a few videos
A simple Lvoe/raindrop raina (can’t figure out if they’re the same person)
  • Only watched a few videos
Isabelle’s Style
  • Not a bad collection but she talks to slow for me
Kat L
  • Only watched a few videos
Morgan Britt Butler
  • I don’t mind her videos but her makeup and styling are just not for me
I am GPS
  • Not bad content but talks way too slow
Romina Rose May
  • Again not really an Hermes influencer, but does go into shop and films stuff, so worth a mention I guess
Madam M.M Styleicon
  • I think she truly loves the brand and buys a lot from them but I don’t click with her style; still worth a mention
A heated mess
  • Only seen a few videos
Jerusha Couture
  • I can’t actually get through one of her videos but i think that might be a me thing

I think she's buying these bags. She's certainly too small a Youtuber for "mentions." Her collection is...a lot. It's almost weird. And I love handbags. But her collection makes me feel almost uncomfortable. It's hard to explain. A lot of repeats for the sake of being a "collector." It's just so excessive. I sort of like her, but sort of "ugh."
The whole "collector" thing seems like a cover for having an addiction imo. When you look at a genuine collector, usually the collection they're referring to is of finite items, items that are very difficult to get or at least items that are highly curated and cared for. These are of purses, most of which are very accessible (despite what she claims), and she doesn't seem to treasure them. I think what makes me slightly uncomfortable is the blatant overconsumption of stuff she will never use (she already claimed to just use her pochette metis from LV every day so there is absolutely no way she could get actual wear out of all of them) and the disregard of this issue just for the sake of "collecting".

Maybe I will have to start a YouTube chanel to get any offers from Hermes here in Australia. I have been a customer for many years and have never been offered anything. Earlier this year I sent my birkin and 2 x Constance’s for repairs which came to 4.5K and I said to the sales lady, I have never been offered to be on a list or anything so I requested to be put on a wait list for a Kelly. I am not holding my breath.
Then I see this particular lady purchased a birkin, then was offered an SO and then purchased a mini black box kelly. It just isn’t fair, is it! She only started shopping there last year.
Lol we should all start youtube channels  !! Honestly though my SA says getting a mini-kelly is next to impossible but idk how true that is when apparently people are buying one pair of oran sandals and getting offered them :shrugs:

Wow. I watched a video briefly and it was like high end hoarders. I wish her well but that level of obsessive shopping is not for me.

Rinkys has the most amazing collection based on her IG account! Her Faubourg Birkin was even reserved for her for 2 weeks so she must be a VVIP at FSH?

Wow @fashionpanda, this seems like a pretty comprehensive list at least from the YouTube side! I don’t mind watching or find entertaining influencers like Tamara, HRH, or Cassie. As for many of the others, I would prefer to get a dental cleaning than see their content. I find many influencers unwatchable because:

Many spend half their videos going on about their sponsorships involving some imo ugly silk item or jewelry. I wonder if they would give these brands the time of day if they weren’t getting paid or some perk. I scroll right through these portions of the videos. I imagine most of us do. But there must be enough lemmings (sorry) who buy these items. Otherwise why would these brands keep spending?

There are a mind numbing amount of links in the info section of their videos and/or they say they love everything they got through their sponsored brand. I get they do it for money but you wonder if they really like these brands or it’s about the cash flow. Would be nice to get some real honest opinions about fit and wear and tear, and to be able to easily find some mentioned item in the info box instead of scrolling through junk.

Some come off as knowing so much about a brand when they likely know very little and glean much of their info from other clients or here on tpf.

They do multiple giveaways which imo cheapens these luxury brands, especially when it involves cash or a bag or several bags. It makes me want to shop those brands less. I imagine this is how they rack up subscribers and views and get so many viewers who constantly fawn over them. They’re each hoping for a chance at a free bag or money.

They use click bait to lure their audience. They use a title to make you think they’re disparaging the brand or use an image that’s not even in the video. Worse they make the surprised awkward twisted faces to catch your attention.

There is an unhealthy level of shopping which imo are addictions for some. How much stuff can one really accumulate and use it all? Do we really need twenty of the same kind of bag but just in different colors. The excess is too much.

So many of them are unboxing or showcasing things so many others have. Seeing the same old same old is just boring now.

The squealing. I can’t stand the squealing.

And yes I would really like those who aren’t French or have French as their native language stop trying to pronounce French words. It’s too much. Like nails on chalkboard.

I just started watching Xiaoma Picks -- I have to use the subtitles and captions to watch but she has a large collection and shares good information. I sometimes watch Margarita Nazarenko and her mom. Irina was a manager at Hermes and had so much valuable info. to share on sizes, colors, and popular questions. I think she got in trouble though, because she stopped all the Hermes postings and switched to a job with Chanel. But her older Hermes videos are good reference videos and share a lot about the inner workings of Hermes. I like YouTubers with very large Hermes collections since the information they share about different leathers and colors is generally more useful than a person who just owns one or two items.

 The classic influencer outfit of a lilysilk shirt, idyl jewlery, vivaia shoes, and whatever they bought on farfetch with their "code" (also farfetch is not doing great in terms of Q3 profits and stock pricing - I guess these 10% off influencer partnerships are not pulling in new customers as they did in years past) :shrugs:

Not me ordering the Idyl earrings! I am so easily influenced
