About 6 months ago, I purchased the Cape Cod, Large model, 37mm in rose gold with white matte alligator strap. I loved it but I needed 2 more holes punched in it so it would stop turning on my wrist. While my sister was in Paris, I asked her to get me another strap and have some extra holes put in for me while she was there. We picked a Rose Sakura strap. WOW. It really looks so much better with the pink! Let me know what you think!

I am seriously thinking about an Hermes watch, leaning towards one of the relatively pricier models with diamonds. My dilemma is: do I do it at my local store to significantly increase my profile or do I wait for a Europe trip (probably Italy or France) to maximize my tax savings and hope I might be offered a random non-quota bag which I may or may not want. Thoughts? WWYD?

My two cents. Local store - better in the long run.

Unless you plan on going to the European location regularly, I would buy it at your local store.

Yes there is a tax savings but watches and jewelry will get flagged at customs and you will have to declare and pay duty on it so the savings may not be as great as it seems. And like you said, buying a watch at the European location may or may not get you a bag offer, and it may or may not be one that you want. Buying it at your home store would probably be more impactful and get you closer to a bag with specs you want.

Thank you for the input. I think I agree :)

I think i'm in love with the Nantucket. Any Nantucket ladies here? Are there any issues with the watch you are concerned with? Any special recommendations? For reference: I am planning to use it more like a jewelry piece than a regular every day watch. (It will be my first Hermes watch in many years. I used to have a Kelly and a Medor, both with leather straps, in the early 2000s and loved both)

It’s gorgeous! I tried one on recently and fell in love… it’s going on my wishlist :)

I have one...it definitely is more of a jewelry piece, very beautiful but hard to tell the time. With the scattering of the diamonds, it's my favorite H watch (in times of aesthetics).
