Hermes Toolbox 20 in a BRIGHT color! Yay or Nay?

If it were me, my first way of wearing this bag would be with denim and white. I think jeans and a white shirt would set it off nicely….as it would be a great neutral background for the green. I’d also look for a floral shirt that brought out the green and combine it with that.
Yes I agree! I actually purchased a white cotton top that cinches on the sides, some khaki tan wide leg jeans, and a dark grass green top. I was shopping with a friend. We walked into White House Black Market and I brought Miss "Green Apple" with me and said " I'm here to find an outfit to go with this BRIGHT GREEN BAG! HAHAHA! :) I already knew what color family I wanted to try based off the color wheel but I let the sales associate take over. It actually looked really good, so I made the purchase. I wore a warm tan cotton short sleeve T with my wide leg blue jeans and camel Tory slides with a white tailored jean jacket and it actually look pretty good! My orange twilly (from Amazon) was on the top handle of the bag and it all worked well together. I am really liking this color and this bag more and more as I get accustomed to using it. Seems like everyone loves the pop of color that this bag has. It's just totally out if MY NORM but it will soon be my norm! I can see myself wanting to use this bag often. I didn't have time to go to Hermes Saturday and Sunday (today) they were closed. Hopefully on Tuesday I'll make it over there. I want something other then this orange twilly I'm currently using. I think the twillies will help me transition to certain outfits easier. This Swift leather is so soft! Love it! Makes me want to buy another Toolbox in a different color in the future! It's so cute and functional!

I have this theory that you can use a bright bag with any color clothing except the bag's color. For example, carry your green bag with any outfit except a green outfit. That's where you can get into trouble.
I empathize because I just bought an orange Goyard. I never, ever wear orange. Most of my summer wardrobe is blue and hot pink. I hope I can put my own advice to good use.
Oh I love orange and I love it in the Goyard! Imo the orange for Goyard is easier to work with. I can easily see your bag with blue jeans, tan and beige and also white and even a dark grass green. I'm sure the experts on this forum will be able to help you like they are helping me :) Congrats on your new orange Goyard! It's beautiful! I love the Goyard in orange!

I followed this bag on fashionphile too just because I'm so in love with this color -- didn't pull the trigger only because the toolbox seems to be a little hard to use based on some youtube videos; I ended up buying another bag in the same color+leather combo, it's super eye-catching in person, making my other green Hermes bag in vert criquet look so dull next to it lol.
Oh how funny! We both were stalking this bag! Lol. :) I saw the price dropped down 5 percent and it qualified for the 10 percent off sale. That is what pushed me to buy. I went back and forth on it for 2 hrs and then just decided to go for it! Lol . I wasn't sure if it was a keeper but the more I looked at it and saw I could make this bag blend in with my wardrobe, the more the color grew on me. I also finally accepted that most likely, this green bag will not be an all seasons bag for me. That too really bothered me as nearly all my bags can be used pretty much anytime of the year. Wow I think this bag is SO functional! I'm totally opposite of what the youtuber said. Lol. I have every item in pouches and I place the pouches in the bag. It works great for me. I love how wide the opening is too. It reveals everything at one glance! I've been using it as a top handle and I love the look of it that way but I did try it with the strap and it worked fine for me too. I am thinking of getting a tan or beige strap for it. Just to get an idea how it would look with the bright green I attached my LV vachetta strap on it (from my NeoNoe Nautical bag) and the light vachetta color looked nice with it. It did not look out if place in my opinion. I'm checking online to see if I can find something suitable for it.:) Here is my bag with all my items I usually bring (in its own pouches). The orange you see is a lightweight insert to just help with keeping the structure of the bag nice and smooth. It doesn't get in the way of closing as it's very pliable.

Oh, please share what you purchased! :)

I agree with @diane278 that jeans and a white shirt would be a great place to start and would be a fantastic fresh casual look. You’ll soon start to feel how you might branch out from there. Have fun working through your closet and post pics of your favorite combinations!
Yes I agree! That will probably be my go to as it's so simple and easy! I will definitely come and post pics of how I tie Ms Green Lady into my wardrobe. Lol :)

In addition to all the styling suggestions shared, I'd give yourself & your eye a chance to adjust
to this pop of color.
This color really can be worn all year long. When you look at your H scarves/twillies that
have this color "green" in it that will give you some guidance as to how to mix your colors.
Perhaps a shoe with a print in these colors would help you tie an outfit together
It's a beautiful color only if it works in your wardrobe & you don't have to sort of work hard
to make it work, IYKWIM..
Yes it's a wonderful idea to use the Hermes twillies as a guide with color matching! It will be my little cheat sheet! Lol. :) You just reminded me that I have some green sandals that have other colors mixed in. I'm going to pull those out. I hope I can use this bag all year long! I'm trying to invision that and the only way I see it somewhat possible is buying twillies that have colors for each season. I'll use that to tie the bag into spring, summer, fall and winter. :)

In the fall, this bag should look interesting with gray flannel & if you wear shawls, any color
will work with your gray & green, JMO

Yes, I would say it wasn't fun at first, as I needed some guidance. Lol. Thanks to you and everyone here, it is becoming fun!
I am such a neutrals person that Bleu Électrique was bright for me...but now I wear it with almost anything and it always makes me happy.

I am a huge fan of the Toolbox, both 20 and 26 (33 is too big for me), and wish it were a more popular bag.

I would love to see pics of your outfits if you are so incl8ned! Congrats!

I can really see this bag in winter. . .a bright pop against a navy pea coat and jeans. Or against a camel long coat and winter white. The more you wear it, the more you will find it goes. . .
