I don’t think it’s something you can force. You clearly are trying to convince yourself when, imo, you’d be much better off just waiting for a color you love more.
Yes, I suppose so. I do have 15 days to decide. I'll have it in view so so I can admore it, see what I have in my closet and I will know soon enough. It's so nice to have this forum to talk to other bag enthusiasts. I can't talk about things like this to my friends too often. It's just not that serious to them. Lol. I'm over the top and need to slow down. Lol

Yes I'm a bit burned out on the black and browns. Lol
If you are burning out on the black and browns, but not ready for apple green,

how about off white or navy. . .or even a more muted but jewel like, still saturated color
(think gem stone colors like sapphire, emerald, or ruby)

I do think apple green can be styled in all four seasons, like winter white lol

i would embrace the smooshy quality of swift leather, but thats just me :)

I believe it is always important to follow your gut reaction.

As I interpret your original post, you bought this bag because you were tempted to be adventurous by something that was not a safe neutral. In reality at the moment this is a step too far from you.
No amount of advice on ways to tone it down will remove the thought that you are not comfortable with it.
I completely agree with 880 that a rich jewel tone could be a good choice for you.
There are very attractive and interesting in an understated way.

Yes I want to be adventurous and the pop of color is goregous and I do love the color. :) My dilemma is learning how to pair this color with other colors that work for me. Once I learn what to wear (or not wear) with this bag, I'll be good to go. It's just going to take some getting use to and I want to be assured (somehow) that my money will go to good use, even if I just use it spring and summer. We shall see. I'll keep you and every posted on my final decision. I'm going to go thru my closet today to see what works! :)

WOW, green apple in the winter? I love how you think outside the box.:) I love the different ideas and color choices I have been given on this forum. I can actually visualize that! Wearing a thick cream color wool or shearling coat with camel tall boots with the green bag as a pop of color! How did I do? :) Thank you! I would not think to use that color for the winter but now that you mentioned it, I can visualize that. :)

This color wheel from Tibi helped me
Use color. The apple green is in Ring 4 and can go with anything in ring 3

Also mixing 3 colors in ring 2,3,4 or all ring 4 works! Choose three colors at a time

Try it?
Awesome! LOVE IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS EXCELLENT! Awesome color wheel! This is very helpful! It will make this so much easier for me while I search thru my closet! Lol :) Thank you!

Hello PF Family!

I just purchased today a 2011 Hermes Toolbox 20 in Swift leather with palladium hardware. It's marked as very good but imo it is excellent. The ONLY con (if you want to call it that) is this bright and loud granny green apple color! Lol. It is a pretty color, but it is LOUD! LOL. When I got home I put on a twilly from Amazon just to get an idea if adding a twilly would help tone the bag down. I feel it has. Any ideas on colors for a twilly? Please feel free to suggest. Anyway it was purchased at Fashionphile. I have not cut off the tag yet as I am contemplating and need to see if I will feel comfortable wearing this loud color. Lol. Of course I can get a safe color like brown or black but it's nice to have something different. Here are some pics and here is the link from FP. Input please  I thank all that are helping me decide. To make it clear, I do love the color, but it is LOUD! LOL

If it were me, my first way of wearing this bag would be with denim and white. I think jeans and a white shirt would set it off nicely….as it would be a great neutral background for the green. I’d also look for a floral shirt that brought out the green and combine it with that.

In addition to all the styling suggestions shared, I'd give yourself & your eye a chance to adjust
to this pop of color.
This color really can be worn all year long. When you look at your H scarves/twillies that
have this color "green" in it that will give you some guidance as to how to mix your colors.
Perhaps a shoe with a print in these colors would help you tie an outfit together
It's a beautiful color only if it works in your wardrobe & you don't have to sort of work hard
to make it work, IYKWIM..

I agree with @diane278 that jeans and a white shirt would be a great place to start and would be a fantastic fresh casual look. You’ll soon start to feel how you might branch out from there. Have fun working through your closet and post pics of your favorite combinations!

I followed this bag on fashionphile too just because I'm so in love with this color -- didn't pull the trigger only because the toolbox seems to be a little hard to use based on some youtube videos; I ended up buying another bag in the same color+leather combo, it's super eye-catching in person, making my other green Hermes bag in vert criquet look so dull next to it lol.

I have this theory that you can use a bright bag with any color clothing except the bag's color. For example, carry your green bag with any outfit except a green outfit. That's where you can get into trouble.
I empathize because I just bought an orange Goyard. I never, ever wear orange. Most of my summer wardrobe is blue and hot pink. I hope I can put my own advice to good use.
