I haven't been to Greenwich in a few years and could use an excuse to come up.

HOWEVER, opening yet another new Hermes boutique with so little inventory available for existing stores makes me wonder how empty the shelves will be . . . everywhere.

:confused1:

I don't understand what's going on. No more phone orders, no stock, and they're opening another store so close to NY. It perplexes me.

I live in Connecticut. I have to take Metro North or drive to the city for Madison and Wall Street stores, it takes about an hour to be there. I sometimes drive to NJ for Riverside and short hill stores, it take about an hour and half. This should be a good news for me to have a store less than 10 minutes drive. It's not because of tax issue, but I don't know the reason why I feel sad when I read the news :oh:

Actually they have so many things to sell besides Bags , SLG and CDC .... that's why they need the exposure that new stores give to their products.

They do have lots of other things to sell, thank goodness! Those departments are also less than well stocked but I guess unless you know what their inventory used to be then you won't notice that it's so dismal. They can certainly fill a store with a little of this and that but any real selection of any one item is not what it once was.

This convinces me more that they're controlling the availability of items for whatever reason. I've searched for items like CDCs and Kelly Dogs which they tell me aren't available anywhere in the country, only to find them posted on the website the same day or close to it. It's inconceivable to me that they would open a new store if they have nothing to stock it with. A new store with empty shelves? No way!!

Lucky NYers, NJ, CT folks to have so many stores available. Have no fear, you never be reading H is opening a store in Martinsburg, WV.

We'll never lose the stereotype of hillbillies, coal mines, Appalachia; however the rail tycoons were pretty wealthy folk and build some fairly impressive mansions, though I have not ventured iso; nor do most folks know that West Virginia once was part of Virginia. The hillbillies, coal miners and other poor ignorant folk (facetiously said) decided to secede due to the Civil War. Ironically, Hermes computers always charge Virginia tax rather than no tax, so who is the ignorant folk? And believe me I'm on the phone having them correct it faster than you can I live in West Virginia not western Virginia!)

Anyway, perhaps sour grapes on my part but have fun shopping anyway!
