Sorry, just to be sure both the Kelly 32 & Birkin 30 both sit around $14xxx?

I always thought they were more, I didn't realise (silly me) that resale was practically new price or more!
I haven't shopped much with Hermes, did you think it'd be hard to get on the wait list? Thank you

Usually resellers put premium so they can make profit. If its your first K or B, i suggest to visit the store, show your interest in k32, colours, leathers you like.
Advise SA, you are willing to wait. I found sydney store is very fair to public.
Good luck!

It'll be my first so I do like your thinking!
I've got two bags I want to cross off my list & then this (Prada 2274 & Vuitton Petite Malle).

I am still debating between B or K. I love the look of both but I feel the Kelly would get more wear as I could put a shoulder strap with it. However I am thinking of a vintage Kelly...? A V stamp would be fun a way to celebrate my 25th birthday ;)

For me i love birkin 30 but i have to stick with a kelly due to baby on the way and likeliness of having a second child in a couple years. I wouldn't be able to use a birkin much so ill invest in that later so for me i opted for Kelly first due to the shoulder strap. b30 comes later :)
But if you have no kids or they dont require hand holding then id go birkin. Still will depend your lifestyle even busy women without kids opt for kelly due to the strap and then women with kids still opt for a birkin[emoji13]

Awww nice!!!! I like to hear someone's wish K or B for special occasions. It is a good idea to discuss about this eith SA from the store as well. Although you may not be able to try sample bags like paris, she/he (SA) will help you decide what suit you better.
I wish you a very best for your 1st B or K.

Like orangefanatic said Aus market is limited there is few consignment stores. Reebonz.com is reputable but very inflated price (dutys included so no hidden charge)
There are a few other aus consignment stores but they barely have anything i only see birkin 35 on the other ones. Or you can try eBay and buy from a reputable japanese seller? E.g. Galleryrare midoyna brand_jfa etc just going off Top of my head here lol. There is also Rakuten which has all the Japanese resellers but that site is painful to search on not very well made like ebay. But bare in mind you will pay import fees buying from ebay or Rakuten.
Thanks for the intel on Reboonz with regards to price.
Designer Archives in Brisbane have a few B&K throughout the year, they have just advertised that a black B30 will be on the shelf soon and are taking EOI.

Good to know Sydney play fair!

Hi! Sydney Hermes is opened for Kelly 32 wait list now... Might be cheaper to wait there if you are not in rush.

My heart skipped a beat reading this! If that's the case, I'm running to the boutique this week to put my name in. Does anyone know if they need to check your purchase history before taking details or do they just kindly accept a request from walking in? I'm only asking because I've purchased quite a few things so far this year but haven't ever approached the topic (more like too scared to ask) of a B or K with my SAs. Plus any idea on potential wait times? [emoji7] TIA!

I agree with your thinking! That's why I am swaying towards the Kelly first, then the Birkin for later, maybe for a 30th or something is my thoughts.

I love to celebrate milestones & special occasions with a piece, its a fantastic memory for each item.
I much appreciate your advice, I can't wait to be in Sydney again so I can finally ask these questions.
As you said the Hermes boutique will likely not have stock I can try on, I am thinking it might be worth looking in Reebonz just so I can try them on at least.
The more I think about it I am swaying towards a vintage Kelly, then maybe a new Birkin later on.

I have no idea how long is the wait[emoji23] I only went in to pick up some online shopping and I bought a twilly on that day, I asked if the Birkin wait list is opened again and the SA told me yes but only for 35 or 40, then she brought up Kelly32 wait list is opened too and said it will be better fit for me because of my size.. she then mentioned for the wait list there is no grey, gold or black, but you can wait for some navy blue which is quite similar to black color, also you can just put neutral color in general if you want...

I would say just go and drop your name down asap in case they close again[emoji38]

Good luck!

When i put my name down it was open for a 30b or 32k... i went with 32k... was told possibly 2 year wait but depends on colour you choose... also remember, if you buy things in the meantime they might offer you something sooner [emoji6] Good luck!
