I have found Italy not beeing such a fun place for kids. I always had the feeling my kids were not welcome as they were be in the US, Sweden, Germany or Switzerland....

As an advice, I could recommend that you make sure you leave your hotel with EVERYTHING you need for your kid for the day, and especially toys as you will need those to distract your kid from the waitting lines or waitting in the restaurant ...and no place will ever have any...

I will take note of the above, toys, biscuits, packet milk and enough clean clothings.

I just wonder is it easy to buy stuff from shops, such as fresh milk, snacks etc?

Yes, we do have plenty of supermarkets. For fresh milk, the best one is Granarolo (scremato = skimmed milk; parzialmente scremato = semi skimmed milk; intero = whole milk. I hope I translated it right in English).
As for activities for kids, it's true that there are not many things for them. In Rome there a nice zoo http://www.bioparco.it/forma//attivita/attivita_ID1373.php
I've never visited it but heard good things about it

kelly_birkin : I love the fact Marks & Spencer is everywhr in Ldn:)

Maryg1 : Checked out the webby, seems fun. Is the underground tram easy to nagivate, i.e. with english instructions?

I'm very new but of all the lovely designers and purses featured here on TPF I've found myself most drawn to this forum, the H bags are breath taking and the members here have so much style.

I will proudly wear my Coach bags for now... but after seeing the bag in this thread.

I MUST have a Hermes, I must!!

So if you guys don't mind this humble Coach gal joining you all I'll go label my piggy bank now:)

Seriously, that Croc is without a doubt the most beautiful
thing I've ever laid eyes on.

^^^ Right behind you, geekbabe. Cept I've loved all the French and Italians (Louis, Prada, Balenciaga...) but my mother just came from New York with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL handbag - a 35 raisin box with PHW. And while she would only let me touch it for a few moments, I fell in LOVE.

I must have one. And I must have it soon. I'm about half way there with saving (I was saving up for some other bags, but have decided to devote my funds to H from now on) and I'm fairly sure what I want. I know that most people start with Black and I probably should, especially since winter approacheth, but I have to have a 35 Gold Togo with PHW. I.HAVE.TO. LOLOLOLOLOL

...and it's funny. I never EVER thought I would even like a Birkin. Honestly, I thought it was for older ladies (I'll be 30 in December) and that I would never be able to pull off something so... rigid. But wow, the functionality, the colors, the durability, the LEATHER! TDF. Thank GOODNESS I'm halfway there with the saving or I'd be bonkers right now! :D :D :D

So don't mind me. I'll be lurking and wow-ing at all you Hermes afficiandos! :)

NyckeiXXIV,

After sitting here talking with my husband I realize that owning H won't be as difficult as one would think at first.

I buy several bags a year.. if I refrain for just one year I could easily afford a gently used new to me H from a reputable reseller.. and if we add in the money hubby would spend on my for Xmas, birthday and anniverary the bag could be even nicer.

^^^ I agree with you. I think they are attainable (especially if you're not going for the UBER expensive skins... they look GORGY, but that I DON'T think I could pull one off) maybe now so more than ever. If I just save instead of spend (I had about 3 bags lined up for the end of the year...) and count birthday, xmas, and random bursts of monetary affection from my parents, I should be okay! :D

I'm sooo stoked! And I'll be waiting to see what you get! :)

I have decided that I would love to own a birkin, so to fund this (or start me on the way to funding) I am going to send some of my rarely used bags to consignment and whatever proceeds I get will be my start to my birkin fund!
