I am sorry for your loss Joannadyne.Oh, I’m afraid I’ve been a little too vague - I lost all interest in scarves (and in life in general) when my stepson died in March, so it’s not so much a curation journey as it’s been a grief journey. Coming across a couple of grails has helped me to cope and bring me back to the land of the living. Animapolis made me smile the other day in the boutique so I knew it was one I need in my collection. Just have to wait a bit - finances are tighter than usual. (Who knew death was more expensive than living?) Plus we got a puppy. Luckily, he shows no interest in H scarves... So far.
Happy Birthday Queenie! Your CW is beautiful! Finally, I gifted myself a wonderful Sieste au Paradis for my birthday

It’s my first 140 plume, I was afraid it will be too much fabric but the scarf is so light... a true pleasure to wear.

Have a great day!!!
Congrats on your first 140! It’s just amazing on you!!
Many thoughts for you and your family.
Oh noooo!!! My heart breaks for you. You've been through so much hardship this year and yet have been such a positive and gracious (though less frequent) a member of this community that I would never have guessed. I hope that you find your sunshine. If Animapolis brought you rays of joy and put a smile on your face, that's priceless. Thank you for sharing.
Sending you hugs. Just read this.![]()
Oh my dear Joanna, feeling so sorry to read what happened to your family. Big hugs to you from across the ocean.
Oh this photo says MISCHIEF for sure!
Staying open to all of this is brutal work. I salute your honesty and bravery.
So very sorry for you loss joannadyne...it is just heartbreaking to see what you and your family have been going through. Sending love and prayers to you. Your adorable Cavalier will bring you and your DS much joy, as I think I shared with you that we also had a Cavalier for 13 years. Just wonderful, loving companions (as are all dogs, IMO!).
I just love the scarves on you...we would be twins with CW01 of Animapolis and the first CW of Sieste, and as always you look amazing in these color families.
Wishing you only 100% positive developments in your life in the days ahead that will somehow bring some happiness back into your life and into the lives of those around you, too. You certainly deserve that.
I love that cw of Animapolis on you especially against your shirt color, and both of those Siestes are stunning on you, too.
It is terrible and heartbreaking to read this. I send you my deepest sympathy. Hugs.
Both Siestes are gorgeous on you, and I agree, number two is really special! And I hope you get the 01 Animapolis, too...!
Dear Joannadyne
I am a longtime lurker , sometimes active contributor here....I became interested in Hermes scarves on ebay( which led me to the purseforum) when my family was dealing with my Dad’s illness and dementia over a period of two years. It was a family crisis and we all responded differently, and it was painful and numbing. Immersing myself periodically in beauty and creativity saved my heart and my sanity. We have to come up from the depths and decompress periodically, at times like that, or we will drown ourselves. I cannot fathom the pain you’ve experienced in the past while, but I am so glad you have a community of friends here to support and love you and remind you of the simple joys of living. And your little puppy is a darling!... welcome back to your other ‘hood!
I'm glad this forum has been a pleasant diversion for you @Joannadyne. What a difficult road you have been on. Please take good care of yourself and visit here often![]()
I follow you on IG so I was aware of some of this but I didn't realize just how much you've been through lately. Sending hugs and love your way....
I am so very sorry to read this Joannadyne. Even though we are a group of people who (in the main) would not know each other if we passed on the street, on here we are all friends. My heart hurts for you as it would for any other of my friends who had to endure such a terrible loss. You and your family are very much in my thoughts.
I am truly truly sorry to hear that! my heart goes out to you and your family!![]()
Oh, @Joannadyne, I am so sorry to hear of such losses all piling up on you at once. Scarves are comforting. I know this from personal experience. I hope all these losses at once means that you are getting set to have a good long break, that you're over the hump so to speak. The adorable puppy would help anyone.
Dearest Joannadyne, you have my sincerest sympathy. Like many members have already said, I am felling with you and send you energy and hugs, silky hugs! For us (crazy) scarfies, silks are more than just scarfs or just silk... they take us to “other places” and make us dream, wonder, smile! Over the years I have noticed than when life gets really serious, I loose this fervent interest in H silks... after a while it comes back and it makes me realize how fortunate and privileged we are to be able to follow such a passion... when I joined this forum years back I used to post very often in many different threads... over the years the amount of my posts have dropped a lot, but I always kept monitoring my favorite threads. Since you started posting a few seasons ago, your posting have always been the highlight of the day. I could feel your positive energy and good mood and you always made me smile, not only because of your wit but also because of your own contagious smile in your beautiful pics. I sincerely hope you come back to your positive- wonderful- self and if Silks help to achieve this, hey, why not! Like we say around here “Kopf hoch!” (Head high) it will show your beautiful silk(s) better... and your gorgeous smile. Silky hugs, P.
I am sorry for your loss Joannadyne.
I love love the Sieste with the orange hem on you. I truly understand your dilemma with the yellow hem. It was not at all my favorite color but I had for Christmas a Coupé de gala with a yellow hem and I just love it. If you like the general color harmony of the scarf, I would say go for it.View attachment 4469567 View attachment 4469568 View attachment 4469569 View attachment 4469570 View attachment 4469575 View attachment 4469576 View attachment 4469577 View attachment 4469578 View attachment 4469579 View attachment 4469567 View attachment 4469568
This has got to be a record for the post with the most multiquotes!
First of all, thank you all so much for your kind posts and messages. Reading all of them made me cry, in the best way possible, healing way. I didn’t realize just how much I needed acknowledgement and sympathy over what I had been going through. And even if it’s in a very public forum like this, there’s a level of anonymity that enables true honesty that isnt possible for me on other social media platforms. I am so deeply grateful and touched by all of you that read and responded. Thank you.
I posted a little on the FW thread about my visit to H yesterday. I tried on the two Siestes again along with the blue to compare. I really want one but just can’t seem to settle on a cw. To those of you who said the bright yellow, I think you’re right. I’ve always shied away from yellow and it’s caused me grail-aches, you know, where you COULD’VE bought that scarf in the store but for some tiny, later-inconsequential reason (“but it has a yellow hem” is my constant refrain), you passed on it only to find that months, sometimes years later you covet that scarf and search incessantly for it on the secondary market? That was Hippopolis and Terre Precieuse for me. But I’m still unsure on this Sieste. I feel like the scarf is always prettier on the other side of inventory. So I’ll mull it over... Can anyone point me to the page that has all of the cws? I tried looking for it but got so lost.
The pictures up top (because I don’t know how to move them) are of the yellow cw of Sieste with the orange hem, plus the blue one that made it back in stock. I think the first one is more versatile for me even though I am slain by the beauty of the blue. Also, my store finally got one of the pink Pivoines in. It’s pretty but my heart didn’t leap at it so it stayed in the boutique. I couldn’t decide if I wanted Sweet Dreams or Animapolis. They said super bright cw of Sweet Dreams was no longer available, but I don’t think they really checked. So I left with Animapolis 01, my first belated purchase of the season.
Oh, I have some old pics of Sweet Dreams. Do you think I should try to pursue it? I confess to balking a bit at paying so much for a primarily wool scarf. Somehow, paying hundreds for a silk scarf is easier to swallow. But this design is so amazing. And I think it would go with my hair no matter what crazy color I choose in the future, lol.

@Joannadyne As a fan of Sweet Dreams (or is it actually "Sweat Dreams"- considering the mistake on the tag?), I purchased it in the bright color way you are wearing in the picture and also in the bright blue color way. I love the size of it, and that fact that even an unexperienced "scarfie" like me can make it look great no matter how I tie it. There are no boring spots on this scarf. Also, I thought that the red/orange color way would be too bright on me and that it might go with very few items in my wardrobe. I was so very wrong about that. It will work with any solid color at all. Black, blue, green, purple, pink, white, off-white, etc. Who cares what one wears when that stunningly brilliant scarf is around your neck? I also find the colors uplifting. I highly recommend the colorway you are gravitating toward. I don't think you will regret it in the least. It is so much fun to wear.

That is the loveliest colorway...I have two of these, the deep blue, and the bright violet, magenta pink and yellow one, but every time I have seen this, I find it so cool and refreshing looking, a completely elegant look. Finally, I gifted myself a wonderful Sieste au Paradis for my birthday

I totally agree on all points! Yellow isn’t an easy colour to wear, but the great thing about this scarf is that the juxtaposition of other colours sort of takes the curse off the yellow, so you can enjoy it as an accent without having it take over...and the colours in Sweet Dreams are perfect on you, And it is so fun and charming!I love love the Sieste with the orange hem on you. I truly understand your dilemma with the yellow hem. It was not at all my favorite color but I had for Christmas a Coupé de gala with a yellow hem and I just love it. Regarding Sweet Dreams, my first reaction was similar to yours (a bit expensive for this sort of material). Nonetheless, I gifted one to my brother and I do not regret it at all. The fabric should be very comfortable for summer. The bright version suits you perfectly, « it looks very you » (in French, we say : « c’est tout toi »).
My favorite of these scarves on you is the sweet dreams in that bright CW. I think the price point is fair( for H). I did find it more scratchy than the cashmere/silk- if the texture doesn’t bother you, go for it!No boring spots on the scarf is a fantastic point that I hadn’t thought of. You’re also absolutely right in that it’s easy to tie - in fact, simple ties seem to suit it better because of its busy pattern. OK, I think I will need to get this. If I don’t, it’ll be another grail-ache. I only hope I can still find one this late in the game!
