Dear scarfies, I've been so dismayed to read about what H corporate has done here. What irks me the most is that we rely on these images to help plan our purchases for the season. Without access to these photos, we would have no clue what our options are since the H.com website is SO ABYSMAL and no boutique is ever fully stocked with the season's offerings. If anyone from H is reading this, could you at least post photos of all of the designs and colorways (i.e., the full collection) on the website on the release date? Even if they're not available for purchase just have them there like a normal retailer would. Is it really that much to ask?! And lastly, if your "secret" images were downloaded from a public directory, then it's your IT department who screwed up and we shouldn't be punished for that!

Well, I'm braving the headwinds of Photo-gate and price increase with my latest treasure, Pivoines in Bleu Lac. Photo in fading daylight but just had to share! More to come this weekend.

"like a normal retailer"...... LOL. What a concept.

RIGHT??? Ha ha ha ha ha

Seriously, though, I think we're fighting a deeply-entrenched fallacy to which Hermes has long subscribed: namely, that the quantity of money a consumer will spend varies inversely with the quantity of product information available to that consumer. Some of us will remember back in the days when we got inside information from "Uno," who posted the names and details of upcoming seasons' scarf offerings. Uno always stipulated that no one should make comments like, "I'm stopping buying for this season because I want to wait for the next one now," because, said Uno, Hermes does not like that. But the thing is, most of us don't think that way, and even more importantly, many of us simply aren't happy to buy scarves until we've seen the full array of offerings for the season. I know that if I can't find out what patterns and colorways will be available, I might simply skip a scarf entirely rather than risk buying one only to learn later that I'd rather have bought a different color that hadn't yet appeared in stores. In Hermes's logic, they clearly think that means I'll buy both scarves because I'll simply compensate for the lack of information by buying anything I might remotely like as soon as I see it, where in reality I'll buy nothing. No one wins.

Doubling down on this strategy is all the more absurd in light of the extended print runs of recent years. It's clear that they're more than willing to re-print when a design is popular, so there's no playing the scarcity card either, as they do so successfully with leather. They're even pumping out more Exceptionals now when one of those designs does well. No one needs to be in a rush to get anything anymore, and frankly, if I wait around for a while before making a purchase-- as I always do when I can't access enough information-- I often realize I can live without it.

Many of us have SAs who clearly understand that the more we know, the more we buy, and if it weren't for those SAs and this thread, I wouldn't feel good about spending increasingly large sums of money for Hermes silks. I wish the knowledge that those SAs have from actual experience making sales would travel up the chain.

TL;DR: It's not just that they're being oblivious here, keeping us in the dark is their actual freaking strategy!

All that being said, everyone is looking great in the recent modeling photos posted here!

I'm just glad it was only their scarves that I was interested in. When I see how some have to suffer to be ALLOWED to spend thousands on a handbag or have to "build" a relationship with their SA just to procure one their business model just bewilders me. This is just another layer of irreverence towards their loyal customers on top of that.
There are plenty of other good brands out there and I think I need to start spending my money elsewhere.

Wow! I so wanted to see more of this CW tied... Thank you! I love the bright color combo on this one

Gorgeous!

Thank you so much for sharing these... So helpful! The Equateur is stunning!

Did you get all of these? OMG Gorgeous! Especially that layout of Equateurs!

Thanks! I got the three equatuers, jungle love and tree of song twilly in my second post. First post was what I didn’t buy but tried on.

I'm trying to figure that out as well. I finally saw the Carré Wash scarves in person last week, but I'm going to have to order online since my SA is on vacation from now until the day of the increase. I'm trying to decide between Pierres et Cristaux in marine/rouge/grenat or Coupe de Gala in rose pâle/rouge/bordeaux (AW18). I bought L'art du Bojagi CSGM, but left Jungle Love Tattoo on the table. Now I'm seriously contemplating that, plus the Wash before the increase.

Please share when you receive your scarves! I don’t believe I’ve seen the pierres et cristaux yet in marine.
