Better close up of the first pic and second pic of the silks in front
ETA: The first is probably the Paisley from Paisley CSGM that @croisette mentioned followed by Jungle Love Tattoo reissued.

That surf/owl(?) scarf looks amaaaaazing, especially in that cw! However- I don’t think I could ever wear it, thanks to a rather annoying case of cetaphobia (fear of whales)!
How silly is that?!

Help me please in guessing the size of small scarves,
two formats - probably 90 - hang underneath together
larger formats are on top and lying separately
if they are 140 – it means - Phoenix, Les coupes and big dots print are 70?
Or I’m wrong and they are 45
I think the MP is a 70...if the ones sitting next to it are 140...? Too small to be a 45?:flowers:

hope not boring You with these photos
Boring? Hardly. You know the folks looking at this thread live for this kind of thing, right? We're taking notes, zooming in on details for clues, and making out our budgets based on photos like these. Thank you for posting!

Agreed. The 90s are hanging underneath and in the front.
Lying on top, the larger ones should be 140s as Jungle Love Tattoo and Zouets et Dragons are confirmed as CSGMs.
The smaller ones should then be 70s? The big dots are consistent with their latest 70s design. But MP and Les Coupes would be actual designs, a departure from the only graphic 70s. And I spotted a mousseline losange in your post? Exciting!

Thank you Angelian. Zouaves looks like a Brandebourgs version. The flower shawl could be the Paisley from Paisley.

You’re welcome Croisette! :yw: Oh yes, the Paisley you mentioned in your CSGM post! I like the look of that one.
Have you perhaps heard anything about a new Alice Shirley design? Since I discovered H there has never been a season without her. No pics of a new design nor a reissue yet.

Thank you Wen84 for posting these.

I’m sorry to be negative but the best thing about this design was the intricacy of the ropes. They dumbed it down. It could have been absolutely beautiful but it looks really dull and flat. So disappointing.

There were oddly 2 versions shown SS18 re the pareos. 1) corresponding directly to the 90 with ropes and the other 2) with 'gaps'. It was noted in that season's thread and if I'm not mistaken they were in the same cws. I think the gaps could have been a batch accident and they've just made it more 'official'. There have been accidents on other batches of scarves.

Perhaps H didn't think anyone would notice LOL.

Interesting. Hmmm... I noticed. I’ll find something else to buy. [emoji6]

With apologies to anyone who loves the newest iteration of this design, I see this trend toward oversimplification as a thinly veiled attempt to cut costs. Repeating designs season after season, reducing the number of screens and dyes, and increasing prices on various products results in the record-breaking profits that Hermès posts quarter after quarter. I know that many appreciate a “fresh take” on a classic design, but I personally have never found a silk re-mix that exceeded the beauty of the original. I sometimes wonder, what’s next?

I wonder how the artists feel about them doing this to their design. I would be very offended.

By way of comparison, here are the 90 and 140 versions of coup de fouet. All of the detail was retained.

Although Pierre Charpin designed his Serpentine very simply with colour waves only and without the horse (AW18). It was Hermes that added it.
