As per usual, lurking and loving the beauties and information everyone has provided. Here's my new Animapolis, CW 9 (NA/Ocre/Creme/Vert). I was loving the design but pretty sure I wasn't going to pick it up based on the CWs seen here as none of them would suit me but, as usual, IRL is another thing. I fell in love.

Here are some details for those interested in a better look at the colours. I believe CW9 hasn't been up on the forum yet:

I find it infinitely wearable, and this was surprising. Especially for olive/warm skin tones

This is such a beautiful colorway! I was looking forward to seeing someone with it since so much focus has been on the brights. Very very pretty, look forward to seeing a picture on! Congrats!!

Thank you for all the kind responses.

For those who asked, a few mod shots...it's late here so the lighting isn't that great but tried mimicking daylight with a makeup mirror. This does come across as very yellow dominated w/ splashes of green but there is a lot of beige, black and white in it which really helps it work as a neutral. It really depends on how you tie it. I think we've all seen other posts where this scarf morphs depending on what you do with it. This is no exception.

I usually shy away from these colours (you wouldn't know it by the sweater!), but I see this working so well with most neutral outfits (ivory, camel, beige, black, gray, etc.) as well as several deeper winter shades such as burgundy, pine, etc. I think it would look equally good with gold toned jewellery (see pic 2 & 3 for gold scarf ring) as well as with horn or pearls.

All very beautiful choices to share @calexandre, though you may not keep all. I’ve already the white summer silk Equateuer, but was excited about a washed silk version. Now not so sure but hopefully will not duplicate what I have already. And agree with you re Peony silk. I am waiting to try these in person, but wondering if I can wait until a larger format is issued since I don’t wear 90s as much anymore. I also agree about the scale and busyness of Animopolis. I already have a couple of Ugo Gattoni silks and happy with those designs and colorations. Just a comparison for you of Equateur summer silk frim over several years ago for reference.,.did not want to be off topic, but hope it is of help in coloration discussion of the new issues.

I wish I could found a CW is more closer to the Carnets d'Equateur china collections and yours is the best. Thank you for posting the white summer silk.

This is a cw I probably would have dismissed based on the original photos, but I can totally see from your pics and description that it’s truly a winner. Awesome!!!

It's a really nice cw, thanks for the pictures.

@julian.f that is a fabulous CW. I would have never given it a second glance if you hadn't posted it.

So I bought Animapolis CW1 for myself at FSH. I tend to dress in black or other dark colors, so I look to my scarves, shoes and bags to give me a nice pop of color. I bought it in the burgundy/blue/red CW for my sister as her first H scarf. I asked about Pivoines but they were sold out. I emailed my SA yesterday and he has one of the ivoire/turquoise/vert CW in the store which is now on hold for me. He didn't even know it was released until I had him look for it. U.S. stores don't seem to have a lot of them right now, so I am thrilled to find one.

Eesh. I went from having none a year ago to having 5. This habit is getting expensive, but they're oh-so-lovely to look at and wear. I need to get better at tying them though.

I nabbed a few scarves off the European site before the holidays to beat the price increase. I've only just picked them up yesterday since I was away during the break. In the meantime, I'd had a chance to try on a few colorways of Peonies while out of town, and was convinced that I'd be sending back the one I ordered. Much as I loved the idea of it, the colorways I was trying on let the mystical cityscape fade into the background, leaving the peony petals looking a bit too literal for my tastes. I LOVE peonies, and think flower petals look fantastic with some people's style, but garland-of-petals just doesn't work with what I'm wearing these days.

So I was shocked and very pleased to find that colorway 04 of Pivoines reads very differently on me than the others have! The dreamy and mysterious fantasy city is rendered in a purpley blue and jumps off the pale peachy-rose background. The flower parts are actually neon, which gives them a wonderful eccentricity that's as far from photo-real as can be, but the neon is tempered by the softness of the background. If you've been trying on Pivoines and having the same reaction I have to it, I definitely recommend giving this color a go.

Next surprise for me: Equateur in the washed silk, which I was sure I would be keeping. I've always loved this pattern, although I've never owned a scarf in it. I have the Tatouage heels and Apple watch band, and have been eyeing the wallpaper as well. Pattern I love + a colorway that looks like the lovechild of eau de nil and menthe seemed like an obvious win for me, but... turns out I don't love how it ties. Tying it just doesn't change it much; no matter what I do, it's a ring of animals, albeit enchanting ones. In a bias fold, I don't think they show quite enough for impact. I do like how they look draped loosely over the shoulders in a triangle, but I don't wear scarves that way very often. This one is probably going back, although the colorway is hard to give up. However, for those whose style better suits the way this ties, the colors and the feel of the silk are dreamy.

The pic in the box is truest to the real color on my screen.

Finally, Animapolis. I found this scarf charming flat, but didn't even try it on when I saw it during the holidays; I have a fraught history with super-detailed tiny-scale patterns. Kluska's modeling shot and story persuaded me I needed to give it a go anyway, and I was delighted with how well this semi-finesse colorway works for me. I don't love that it's the same "palette" as the Pivoines-- seriously, these regimented palettes, UGH HERMES-- but the pattern has charmed me enough that I'm going to try to put that out of my head. It'll stop me from getting any more designs in this color set, however, no matter how cool they may turn out to be.

View attachment 4295016 View attachment 4295017

One thing I really like about Animapolis is that it creates different looks when folded on its alternate biases. When I tried the Equateur, a TPF friend with me commented that Dallet probably didn't really think about how the design would look tied in different ways, which I think is a solid conjecture. Animapolis is the opposite; it's MEANT to be worn and it transforms according to each knot. Not everyone wants or needs that from a scarf, but it's definitely a selling point for me.

Thanks for sharing these pics and your perspective on the designs! Very helpful [emoji4]

Haven't yet seen the SS19 scarf book but in lieu of that, there is a (relatively) new Scarf Pop Up book. Not sure if this is really the right forum for it - as it covers the various designs of H scarves, not just for this season. I did see that someone mentioned it in the "H most recent purchases thread" but I was given this as a gift by my SA (although I do think it does retail for EUR 29/$40, so it was really kind of them to just give it to me!).

Here are a few pics from it. It is not really large (about 22cmx22cm) and there aren't many scarves in it (not like the large coffee table book) but is a cute thing to have for the die hard H scarf fan

This is a pull out tab that changes the scarf from one design to another - there are a few like this. Very reminiscent of a child's book.

Your scarf is beautiful and thank you so much for posting a few of the book pages. I am intrigued.

Lanit, I absolutely LOVE your Equateur! Stunning in white-- and I agree with @falarose, it reminds me of the beautiful china version of this pattern, which suits the motif so beautifully.

I believe this would fall under the Miami color family?
If you’ve still got the scarf with you, it should be right there in front of the colors on the tag, probably abbreviated “MI”?

Miami it is! Mystery solved. (cc: @momasaurus)

While I had it out I threw it on a couple times with a dark teal sweater. It certainly does play well with deep sea-green. Hmmmm. Having a hard time maintaining my resolve with this one!

(Excuse my bobbles; looks like it's time to dig out my cashmere comb!)

This is so beautiful! I love it paired with your sweater, too! I have two scarves with this color (Dallet's "Sichuan" and Parures des Maharajas) so I can't justify another in this cw. That being said, if I didn't already have the the S and PdM, I would JUMP on the cw you bought! Look at how gorgeous those birds are!!! The soft pink branches and trunk of the tree is dreamy! You should keep this one, especially if you don't already have scarves in this color.
