Hi just curious, did ur SAs inform you of the new collection or was it just nice had an appt?
I am genuinely curious about this too. My SA told me that she’ll inform me when the new season RTW is in store but instead it was me who asked for appointment to view the new season products. To add on, so far she has not keep me updated on whether my items arrive in store or not, it is always me going to the store and only finding out there and then that my items arrive.

@bagsforlife10 @PollyHsieh - Let’s put it that it’s a 2-way thing. I buy RTW and already sent photos of what I like to my SA. I was notified of when the RTW would be in maybe a week or 1.5 weeks ago and made the appt. Couldn’t go on day 1 coz I had to work.

In my experience with Hermes SG, I feel it’s no longer the case where you wait for your SA to do all the hard work to “court you”. You need to also vibe back and take some initiative. We’re not tai tai customers who spend like a couple of hundreds of thousands annually so we need to put in some effort to get what we want too!

As for SAs updating on the status of whether your items have arrived at the store, I feel your angst. I’m very blessed with one who will update me when they arrive. And I don’t chase her or disturb coz I know she will let me know when my stuff arrive. Every time I go in store, she will take the initiative to wrap up the appt by going through what’s outstanding and she’ll check if I want to add other items. So I guess you just have to work out that balance of relationship with your SA. And gal, sometimes waiting is good right. We can’t be spending so much every month!

thank you for sharing your experience.
You’re so lucky that your SA initiates that discussion with you..

thank you for sharing your experience. I have been sending the items that I wish to purchase everytime but it is always ignored. I am coming to a conclusion that I may not be spending enough maybe?

My SA informed me, but it’s abt the new twilly bcos i did ask for it for my new bag last week. Just so happen that other new items were there.

I feel that it’s not just abt the spending. It’s abt overall “love” for the brand. Whether we use H rtws/items on certain occasions. I often take pics when i dress up w some H items to show appreciation to my SA n what she has given me. She appreciates it too. And i make it a point to wear mostly H if i have them in my closet when i visit my SA. And i avoid wearing other luxury brands. I know it may be an unpopular opinion, but that’s just my way to build rs w my SA

You do your thing gal! Anything works!

I recall this lady who shared that she will go in and grill her SA by going down the list and that’s the only way she has known/worked with her SA. That worked out for her.

I’m chill and my SA is chill. I just wait for my things. Sometimes it’s like 6-9 months and I’m still waiting and I’m ok. Am I weird LOL. I’m not the only one who’s ok with waiting right?

I think it takes time to build on the relationship and to be more in the know. I am a year with my SA. Only starting from this FW collection was I proactively informed about new launch. Previously I had also requested to be informed about new launches but there wasn’t any initiative….
To clarify my earlier post.
it takes time for us as a customer to show that we are not just after a QB and then disappear kinda client. Moreover SAs have so many clients and the reality is there are limited stocks. So it will not be unexpected that not all customers will be informed proactively. It’s just logical if I am in an SA’s shoes ◡̈

Some food for thought …. I do think that a lot of us, the anxiety or frustrations discussed stems from wanting to clock your profile in x amount of time… to get your QB…..and that sets certain expectations about response time and reactions from SA…..maybe that is not completely fair given the last two years the whole dynamics of H shopping has changed so Much. I would end to say, just enjoy the shopping without stress…. Don’t compare your journey with others. Que Sera sera. Happy H shopping.

Maybe it’s time to address the elephants in the room and this is going to be a very uncomfortable topic for a lot of us who are still new to Hermes. I’m new like a few years and still learning and buying slowly.

We all know that Hermes is a luxury brand that is very discerning of its client make. They want customers of a certain profile but they won’t say no to the rest of us who want to slowly grow to learn about Hermes and slowly move up the hierarchy.

We know that we need to build our profile and relationship. We know better than to ask for mini Kelly, mini Lindy, mini everything because in the 1st 6-12 months or so, we aren’t going to get anything. Elephant number 1. These are reserved for existing clients who waited far longer than us. Based on reading this forum for like a couple of 100 of pages over the past year, I also learnt that FJ waiting time is very long. Tableware also very long. All 6-8 months. So if you keep complaining that your SA never update you, it’s because there’s really no stock. Please wait! This is elephant number 2.

Then comes RTW. Day 1 was Friday, yesterday was Day 2. Now if you’re the sort of customer who can splash $5K on a long cardigan, $3K on a Twillane top, $4K on a dress without blinking an eyelid, sure make that clear to your SA. She probably can tell based on what you wear to the boutique. If you’re not the sort and you only want to buy one tee shirt that’s under $1K, do you think your SA will reserve one slot of her precious Day 1 and 2 appointments for you? I know what category I am in so I never felt offended when I wasn’t notified by my SA. That’s elephant number 3.

Elephant number 4 is what @skinnyepicurean mentioned - anxiety and frustration to meet QB spending and waiting for first QB. Do you know how many other customers out there already overspend their QB by 2-3 times and are all waiting for their favourite combi for QB?

Some of you might feel very offended by now but it’s the truth right! All the elephants in the room that nobody talks about because as Asians we are so courteous. More hard truths - If you think you can only cough out 15K to buy some Hermes items to qualify maybe another 15K for your first Birkin or Kelly annually (30K because you earn 60K a year), then you’re not the correct type of clientele. But should you continue - that’s for you to decide if you want to wait and slowly build your profile.

So what does that mean for us normal beings. It means we have to manage our expectations and go slow. Slowly build profile, slowly buy. I can’t afford to spend 100K a year to meet 2 QBs (bags and other spendings to meet QB quota) so I go slow. Do I get offered, yes of course but not so fast lah!

Please don’t hate me. I have been a silent reader for a long time and I keep wondering when I will have the courage to talk about this. But what I love about is the spirit of open sharing in this forum. We share openly and manage our expectations. Happy Sunday everyone.

Actually agree and also bear in mind all this has worsened because of Covid.
May I add one extra point. Many people believe at all stores especially Paris, that the SAs are lying because they say there are "no QBs available" which in the past meant no QB available to you, whether at that point of time, as a walk in or even as a regular customer. Right now stock worldwide of everything really is low compared to pre-Covid. Believe your SAs, this time they really are not jazzing you. I say this after speaking with my SAs in Asia and Europe, including Paris.
I am sure the bags will eventually appear and the fighting for RTW/ FJ/ watches and China won't be as bad, as things improve. The question is whether one can have patience. Good luck!

Well said!
I would also add that we should all stop comparing as everyone’s journey is different. We share our experience for reference but it’s ok if it’s not the same as other members on this forum.

True. Also, SAs nowadays dont have the luxury or spare time to browse available items for all of their clients. They dont even have time to go to the toilet or have lunch. I think sometimes if not most of the time they are not even aware of all the stocks that came in and they only become aware of them when the client comes in and ask for such items.
