If you are after a quota bag, it would be better to visit the store so you leave an impression.
Generally speaking, your frustration with the lack of products in store is a common one. Sorry, not much of help here except empathy. Read the chats from before, there are some tips shared just recently about better shopping experience.
Thanks for the reply!! Glad I am not the only one feeling this way...

Hi guys, been getting into Hermes lately and starting to enjoy some of the stuff. Any advice? I don't really have an SA and I just want to get a few items to start out that I like, oran sandals, the belt etc. But they are always out of stock at the store and the SAs I get just ask me to get it online. Is it worth shopping at the stores in person? I see most of the stuff I want are in-stock online and I don't have to deal with bad service. But I feel that the best thing about luxury is the in-store experience. Thoughts?
Yeah, it is quite common. Hermes is known for bad customer service in stores for most and excellent customer service for some. It’s all depends on your luck.

I feel that the service level is better in overseas stores so maybe the dismissive attitude is only for SG stores?

I am not looking into bkc at the moment so it doesn’t matter to me. I was considering kelly danse but some told me it is a quota bag in SG and some said it is not. I’m not in a rush to get it and is open to get it when travel resumes.
If you are not looking for a quota bag and love the other products, why not buy them from the resellers? The fine jewellery goes as low as half price and the rest are 20-30% off the retail price. The best part is that they are better stocked than the H stores.

Yes, I am looking at resellers too. Haven’t seen one that I really like. I’m still exploring and slowly taking my time to look around.

I bought some bag charms from resellers when I found what I really like.

thank you so much. Was thinking if is possible to get neutral colors like Etoupe or black with ghw in the store

Possible. Etoupe/Noir/Gold are the usual colours available in stock if they have stock. They are not seasonal colours. But as with Hermes, walking in is like a leap of faith/ opening up a box of chocolates, you never know what you may get. Like what skinnyepicurean has suggested, try to meet a SA, and from there let him or her know that you're looking for a picotin etc. I informed my SA a couple of months back, and on my subsequent appointment, she informed me about the picotins which was just nice, in stock.

Hope you get one soon, they are really cute! I have yet to use mine since i am waiting to unbox in time for my birthday lol.

For me, I value the in house shopping experience, especially for luxury shopping. Shopping online takes away the connection and interaction, which is what I will go for when I am shopping for fast fashion/necessities etc, since I know what I already want, and I don't need to learn more about what I am purchasing - it's just another pair of jeans, or T-shirt for example.

But luxury shopping to me is like a gate to a different dimension, where you detach yourself from the bustling everyday life step into a world of zen, smell of leather, feel of luxurious silks and what not. It's like a pampering session of spa lol, a spa where you feel so so refreshed and light, including your wallet. :giggle:

I think at this point due to Covid, you can make an appointment by calling in, get assigned with an SA, go for the appointment and see if the SA clicks with you or not. More often than not, it's not that the SA are bad, more like they are not pushy/doesn't speak much. My SA initially told me to purchase certain things online as well, because she knows that the inventory in store and online is different, the sizes, the designs may not be available in store/ hard to really come by. So if you're looking to enjoy few stuff without building a profile, by all means purchase online. If you're building a profile, then it is best to get yourself acquainted with a lovely SA (keep making appointments till you get assigned to one who vibes with you) and have your purchases at one store.

My lovely SA actually remembers what my hubby was looking for after a couple of visits, that she told him - I have something for you. Best 5 words uttered, just not to me lol.

Hello all, i just joined the forum for this thread and it’s super helpful reading up random bits of knowledge I didn’t know before.
On my last visit I spoke to a really nice SA but she left. I’m looking for a new SA, so apart from seeing if the SA clicks with you, what else do you look out for? Any advice is appreciated!
