Hi, the waiting list is closed for Singapore Hermes.
I tried ebay but worried about authenticity...
I had friend in USA and Japan.
Do hermes in USA and Japan had ready stock available?
What leather is best, I am confused???

But in Japan, you also pay a slightly higher premium buying brand-new at the H store. It's a tradeoff, and worth it for some, but not for others. ;)

Oh, I forgot to add - there is no "best" leather. All H leathers have their own pros and cons, and their own set of fans, depending on who you ask. I suggest you take a look in the reference library, as there are a few info threads about the different leathers and of course, pics :D

the price is around 10-15% premium over sg.
I didn't go there to buy a birkin mysf, but help a good frd to get since she waited almost 5 yrs and still, nothing from H.
And she mentioned the price quoted to her years ago, will have increase around the same % too.

May I add the service in H-Jpn i-chi-ban. :yahoo:

You can also try the various consignment shops in Singapore - you do pay above retail but you get a chance to see and try one.
As for the leather, you just have to read up about it and there are many many threads here. Do a search :)
As for ebay, the wonderful ladies here do a great job authenticating so you can also post the link at the Authenticate This thread...

Yes, the waiting list has just reopened and the waiting time is 2 years. For Birkins 35 togo, Singapore is about S$14,000 Japan is S$16,000 and Paris is S$10,000! Thus I am flying to Paris next week again to look for one.

$10K in paris. Wow, looks like one can have a vacation in paris plus airtickets and hotel , buy a birkin and still spend under $16k vs Japan H birkin bag. LOL

Precisely, that is why I am flying to Paris to hunt for one!

Really regret not asking for one when I was in Paris last month. End up sleepless for nights, thus next week have to purposely fly there for one. Extra time and expenses incurred.

One lesson learnt: Ask and you may be granted...

Mina I haven't been to the H stores in Singapore for a while now so I don't know if they have moved. I know there is an H store in Ngee Ann City and another in Liat Towers. If they are not there do forgive me. And like bagmad said, try the consignment stores. I can't think of one off the top of my head but there are a few of them. Maybe someone in Singapore can help?

meow good luck. i'm so tempted to go with dh to paris week after next. however i hate paris in summer and i'm going to the swiss alps end of this year so... i'll wait.

Yes, you can go early jan next year, in time for Paris winter sales too. Although Hermes famous bag will not be on sales, you can always discounted brand as extra bonus.

Waow, nice to hear the waitlist is open now...
But yeah, getting one in Paris during a holiday sounds a better option or if you do not mind, there are a number of nice reputable resellers that can ship to Singapore too :D
