To me, the ones who spoil market are the ones who buy just to hit quota and turn around to sell the items. I feel these people are the ones who drive up the prices e.g FJs at boutiques. And they have no appreciation of the brand and its products - the only aim to get a quota bag.

It no longer makes sense to me to buy these non leather items from boutiques since they are so much cheaper at resale stores.

Just my thoughts.
I despise those who buy baits to resell. I think we can do our part to minimize this by not buying BNIB items from resellers. So what if the exact same jewellery cost 50% less. I get more satisfaction buying from Hermes boutique and the amount counts towards my prespend. At least that’s how l think about it

Has anyone been offered Smooth Barenia kelly/birkin in Singapore in recent years? Not the one with grains (b faubourg) but the original smooth one. I read somewhere that paris hardly sends these to asia cause they receive alot of complaints about scratches. I wonder if this is true.
If you have been offered, how long have you been shopping with Hermes and did you have to request and wait for the smooth barenia bag?
I’m bumping up @horselove ’s Q as I”d love to know too!

I see your birkin bait and raise you a special order. Who buys a SO just to resell bnib? Like just go get a real job to make money.

The SMs in 2 SG stores have told me that the feedback from customers has not been positive over the years and therefore Paris no longer sends push offers in smooth Heritage Barenia to the stores here. They are also concerned with offering this and Box to the right customers who understand that these leathers scratch and do patina. I have never requested it specifically but they know I would be interested. It is the usual chicken and egg thing for a newer unknown customer. They can see I already have a few bags in this leather from Europe and I would purchase SLGs as well, so that would help if a rare push offer arrives. Alas we know smooth Barenia cannot be ordered at podium anyway, so those in Asia who really love the leather tend to order a Horizon design in it. I do know someone local who has done this. Other than that I do not know personally of anyone who was offered a B/K at retail in SG. (I believe Constance, yes). Wish anyone would share if they did.

Precisely. If there is nobody who are buying from the grey market, then there will not be such customers who are selling. It’s a chicken and egg thing. Also, if everybody do their part (even the resellers and those so call who are H lovers) by not spending excessively just to get a bag, then H has no choice as well isn’t it? Lol….

i am very curious, what is all of your "waiting for QB" strategy?
for me, i still shopped and try to visit once every 2-3 months instead of once every month..and even though i try to limit my buys, sometimes i cannot help myself and so my prespend finally is quite high...i don't think i should completely stop though, given the wait is now around 12 months (so I was told).. I feel like I may be "lost". that's why i'm curious to understand what are your habits..

I still go every month but I feel like I need to limit myself. My store doesn't allow rollover so now I am trying to go once in 2 months or three. I wouldn't want to stop completely because I'm afraid my SA will totally forget about me :(
