Congrats on your qb! Etain is so gorgeous!!!
If u don't mind, can share what were the items that u bought for the pre spend?
Thank you! :)

After reading many pages of this forum, I followed the advice n spent across different categories, mostly in shoes like orans, fashion jewellery like clic bracelets, necklace, homeware, makeup, and a small fine jewellery!

I tried to visit once every 1-2 months to make some purchases!

Thanks for sharing. Very insightful summary of pre spend n wats required to build profile. This indeed further reinforce n convinced of my reseller route viewpoint coz seriously I m not at all interested in any of these lifestyle products other than the bags themselves.

If I get my math correctly based on Luxlexicon recent listing of a NIB Birkin 25 Ghw, Epsom seller $34,900, discounting reseller commission, the pre spend of Birkin from boutique based on estimated ratio of 1:1 or slightly more thereabouts , should be around $14,000 to $15,000 before getting offered a Birkin right?

As many mentioned pre-spend is around 1:1 or slightly more. I’m not sure about the price of B25.

But for B30 in Togo, it’s $16,200.
I think my wishlist is only placed when I spent around $18k.

Heard that B25 is a longer wait as it’s more popular and demand is high.

Yes, you could consider reseller route if you are not keen to visit boutique often and “find” things to buy! Many things are out of stock (like twilly, pop h) or need to be ordered in!

Thanks for the immense useful info for my decision making!!! Really appreciate it Helped heaps , saves me time n potentially any possible heart break too coz definitely no patience nor the time to shop so often n maintaining a profile.

You can perhaps consider getting from Luxlexicon and then get BBBB authenticated there after. I’m sure if BBBB says it’s not real, Lux will do something.
Doesn't Luxlexicon nor any other resellers authenticate the bags at their end first before even listing the bags for sale at their platform? Is the onus on the buyer to verify authenticity for Hermes resale afterthe purchase at reseller?

They authenticate the bags in house. Personally I would do another level of authentication just to be sure.

I think it really make sense to go straight to a reputable reseller if you are not interested in other products than bags. Coz u will go through hell in the journey. It’s time consuming and very tiring and not enjoyable if you don’t like the items u have to get to get the bag of your dreams. Interacting with a H SA is also not so fun.

Did you continue spending while waiting for your QB to arrive?

I agree that it is best to do your own due diligence. I have sold a couple of bags via reputable resellers in the past and it’s hard to tell what they do to authenticate beyond looking at stamps and receipts. Whichever reseller you choose to buy from, it’s best to ask them about their authentication process and not solely rely on their reputation. And have it independently authenticated. After all you are spending 30k on a bag.

This is a good time to go to a reseller since the stock market tanked, there’s a bag price drop and many choices available. You could even negotiate $1-2k off.

All the best with getting the bag of your choice.

@PurseCloset Going through the reseller route has its pros and cons

Pros
1. Fastest way to get the exact specs you want
2. Don’t have to focus on relationship building
3. Don’t have to endure the long wait time at H stores

Cons
1. You pay a premium
2. If you’re after more than one bag which is quite possibly the case, building that profile might be a better route if you take on a long term vision
3. You never know what happened to the bag before you bought it. Just because a bag has the stickers on and with receipt, are you sure it’s brand new? How would you know if the previous owner didn’t take it out for one or two dates (very careful and gentle usage)? Can you tell? Can you tell if there was accidental water spillage or did the bag get caught in the rain? If it’s epsom, it’s just wipe off right?
4. Authentication process - additional step
5. Some online resellers force you to place a non-refundable deposit. For those with proper shopfronts, you can touch and feel.

All in all, it’s an individual choice if you ask me. Hope you get your dream bag babe!

14-15K is probably too low for prespend for your 1st QB especially if you’re after popular specs/epsom. Perhaps between 16-21K is a more reasonable gauge. Every person’s profile and journey is different so we can’t give you an accurate answer either. But I reckon 14-15K is too low.

Yes, my SA allows me to continue spending while waiting. But I do slow down a bit.

I did ask if additional spending can be clocked towards my 2nd bag (while I’m waiting for my 1st), and yes it can be clocked.

Best to check with your SA as I heard that some SAs will advise you to stop spending.

Hi, am a newbie with H and am wondering, does taka outlet generally have much lower inventory ? Hoping for kind souls who have experiences in all boutiques to share pls.
Also, if an item is sold out in store, but available online, should I just order from the web or is there a better way to go about it?
I just get a feel that my SA knows what’s coming in or not at times and would rather not order/take deposit for items I am keen on but would rather I pick what’s available in store >.<
