Actually, I just realised this picotin 18 in orange may have already been ... acquired three(!!) years ago?

Chows is free to correct me if im wrong. But if it's been three+ years after the purchase and you (or your wife) is/are still trying to justify the orange colour or seek reaffirmation for it, maybe it's time to let it go...

Again, no offence, everybody is free to seek opinions on a public forum. I just had the impression you were asking if you should be "getting" one, but it seems like you've gotten it three years ago. Which would make it a somewhat different story? Cos it would then depend on how actively your wife has been using the orange picotin in the past three years etc. Apologies in advance if I misconstrued your postings.

I reckon some VIPs just get access to htf bags offered and they just decide to hand them over to resellers to get $ back for their next bag…there are many genuine buyers trying to buy bags to use but can’t get them…and there are also some that are well to do and get offered amazing bags which they don’t necessary want as well but doesn’t want to disappoint their SA etc etc..that’s the reality…

Yah. Different countries different culture I guess. I note that in Asia, SG in particular, it’s not common saying no to an SA for whatever reason if the offers are unsuitable. Easier to take and give to resellers.

Hihi!
Allow me to clarify. My wife bought a pre-owned back then but at the back of my mind, I still prefer getting the bag directly from boutique. It's much more special and this is also the way I purchase my watches which are all from AD rather than resellers.

Hence when a SE allow me to be put on the wait list for a Picotin, I have a choice of orange or black. I was thinking black is slightly too dull while the orange is a nice bright color which if we managed to get it, we will let go of the pre-owned piece.

What ya all think? Or should I go for black?

Btw I do all this bag shopping alone but I do know my wife's preferences quite well .

I think you should go for the black picotin, since your wife has an orange one.

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it. Since your wife already has the bag, then I DOUBT she has been "looking silly" carrying a leather paper bag around the past three years :P

Piece of advise: Whatever you do, don't get orange again. Imagine your wife finally gets to unbox after all the trouble you went through to get her a bag and ... TADA! It's another orange picotin... which she already has

I'm probably going to sound like an unappreciative beeech here,

but if my partner bought me a bag I already have and told me "but babe this is different, this is from boutique leh!!!", no matter how great the intentions are and how sweet the gesture it may be, that will largely backfire on him for sure.

This hugely reaffirms why I don't let my partner step into the boutique alone... It's not a matter of trust, but men and women logic are really quite different

Tldr: Ask your wife what she wants, or you both will be in for a rude shock lol.

It’s dependent on purchase history. However, it varies with store.. the invitation is sent by head office. My sa asked if I received the invite but so far didn’t see anything whereas in past years I spent lesser at Lt and taka, I was invited. Then again could be lost mail, as I just move residence recently, wouldn’t know if they got the mailing address correct.

Since you’re au fait with luxury watches, you should be familiar with the concept of profile building. Maybe start by buying something small with your new SA before she takes you seriously? A 2019 bracelet purchase may not quite bring you to your mini E or mini P. I feel bad for you because I know that you’re sweet in wanting to get something for your wife. But the ladies in this forum have already repeatedly explained that without purchases, the SAs wont give you anything. For example, last Nov you shared that you’re waitlisted for a mini E. It’s been >8-9 months. Now it’s this P18 and the story repeats itself.

I just noticed you asking about many bags for your wife and we already told you that you need a profile. The Arceau watch that you mentioned will really help you.

Hello ladies! Just started my H-Journey recently, and gotten 1 item - Shoe from the SA. Told the SA frankly that I am hoping to get a Constance 19 (or 18? sorry, do correct me if I am wrong), and also asked her is that a 1:1 ratio kind so I can get that bag. She said its depends, as long as I do shop frequently, but then this bag is HTG.
Then.. she is quite nice to also mention that she can also help if I wish to get picotin/Lindy.. (Lindy also in my wishlist too)

Now, I am in dilemma if I should try for Lindy, and at the same time, building my profile for my Constance?
Any kind souls, can give some advice? :D

Non quota bags do not count towards your profile. So you just have to continue to shop regularly.

Re Lindy, if you like it, and will find it useful, why not ◡̈. It’s quite different from C18.
