Chanel adopted the strategy for price parity globally.. so they lower sg prices and raised prices elsewhere with reference to the currency. There’s still a disparity but probably about 1-2k difference

As for Hermes and other brands like LV, Dior etc , it’s all the while about 30% lower.

I went to Hermes Liat Tower for the first time today, intending to purchase a bag strap for my Kelly Retourne 40 (a gift from the husband some time ago). I loitered an hour before they informed me that it was my turn, so I decided to maximise returns on time by purchasing five scarves of varying sizes and colours and asked about wallets (which they informed me is not in stock - men's or women's). Seeing other shoppers viewing bags (Evelyne and Roulis), I asked if they had the Lindy and Constance in stock. She checked and replied no, but if I wanted a cross-body bag she had one in stock. She brought out the Halzan 25 in Bleu Lin and did a walkthrough of the four ways to carry it. I thought it was cute so I bought it.

Just before she rang up my purchases, she asked whether I was keen on indicating my interest in the Constance and Lindy and my preferred choice of colours. Not having perused this thread before my visit, I took it at face value and told her I was after the Constance 18 or 22 specifically and also the Birkin 25 and 30 in muted colours, just not brown or black. She seemed to have input this into the handheld device which I had used to register my particulars, but I cannot be sure cos I wasn't paying attention then. So my bill today came up to about $12,500.

Now that I've read through snippets of this thread, I've got so many questions. Would buying the Halzen have delayed the acquisition of the Constance and / or Birkin since there is a bag quota, I gather? And also, was her question about interest in bags an indication that I am genuinely in contention for the Holy Grail(s) of bags?

I do intend to shop a little more over the coming weeks - husband's birthday is coming up, and I'm considering some homewares as well. So I wanted to seek your thoughts and guidance on what my profile-building strategy should be.

Hi there, were you carrying your baby whilst shopping? I was the one checking out the evelyne lol.
I purchased a bag as well yesterday and my SA told me that her request to the SM for Constance will be pushed to a month or two later due to that.

That's a pretty high pre-spend amount; you should definitely let your SA know what bag you're after. They don't necessarily assume you want a QB if you don't mention it...

Oh wow Tamburgerine, that's pretty amazing, how did you guess?

Yes I was shopping with my baby boy in tow! These days, it's either haul the kids along for the ride or not shop at all. Haha!

I did notice your bag while shopping, and it was a gorgeous bag! Congrats on the new acquisition, I'm sure you're gonna get plenty of (careful) wear out of it. =)

Thanks for the tip on the delay. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a little longer for my Birkin / Constance, and spend a little more along the way! Incidentally do watches count towards pre-spend? The hubby's birthday is coming up, so maybe he'll be getting a timekeeper so I can kill two birds with one stone!

It’s not necessarily true that that any bag purchase will delay other bags. My SA offered a non quota which was what I requested her to look out for and got it just a week or 2 from my QB.

I was also offered non quota bag within 3 months after another QB. And a long awaited for non quota came the following month subsequently.

But there were consistent purchases very regularly all the while. I think it’s a matter whether there are stocks to go around.

Hi hi! Honestly, I actually took the Halzan 25 in bleu lin instead after drooling over yours from nearby - my SA found out that there were actually two in bleu lin! Hehe
Watches do count as pre-spend but my SA told me that it will only count once I’ve paid the full amount upon arrival of the watch (paid deposit for the customisation). Openly sharing that I’m not eligible for Kelly yet until that happens ‍:)

Oh from strangers to bag buddies!

The Hazlan 25 was an unexpected surprise for me for sure. It was never really on my horizon until I saw it in person. In my biased opinion, definitely the better buy!

Ooohhh, congrats on your new timepiece too! Looks like a trip to the boutique is in the cards for me soon!

I would suggest a bag pillow, I ordered one from Ali Express so far so good.

Watches definitely help a lot, just as well as furniture and fine jewelry :biggrin:
