Wow, it has been a while! I've since moved to Scottsdale, celebrated 2 anniversaries, and broken up... still no Hermes. I don't know if the AZ location will happen, but I kind of hope that it doesn't. I did hear that if it opens it will be in the Biltmore area not Fashion Square.

Well- I still am hearing Hermes in the Biltmore and Prada at Fashion Square. I live in Arcadia, and we hear different things all the time.

Frankly, I am unsure how the AZ economy will help Hermes...though there is some old money in PV, Arcadia and Biltmore.

Barney's seems to be hurting- it is always so quiet in there....JMHO.

I have to agree with ryrybaby12, I have never seen anyone actually purchasing anything at Barney's. I think that if Hermes was able to get out of their plans to open in Phoenix, they probably did. The economy here is a long way from recovery and will likely never be the same as before the crash.

I too am hearing that Prada is opening in Scottsdale Fashion Square. My Gucci sales associate indicated that it was opening in the summer of 2011, across from Louis Vuitton and adjacent to Victoria's Secret.

I've haven't heard about Hermès at the Biltomore Fashion Park. I have heard about Hermès opening in Scottsdale Fashion Square, but nothing specific. One of the sales associates at Neiman Marcus - whom I have known for almost 20 years - says Hermès is coming, and the fact that Neiman Marcus has pulled Hermès scarves out of the Scottsdale store is proof of that. We'll see, and here's hoping....

I think how successful the under-construction Prada is will determine if other brands open up stores in Scottsdale Fashion Square and Biltmore Fashion Park.

Neiman Marcus could also use a remodel, and maybe add in a handful of branded shop-in-shops.

With Barney's, David Yurman, and many other high-end stores always empty...well, we'll just have to see.

My Master Plan is still to find a way to kick out Sears and bring in Bloomingdale's at Chandler Fashion Center though. :)

Reviving this one in case anyone knows - just saw @Notorious Pink blog post about upcoming boutique openings. Has Scottsdale been scrapped....AGAIN?? Odd that we have no Chanel (except in NM) & no Hermes, but I don't see many ppl carrying them here either (rare). Anyone have any updates on if they are going in The Palmeraie? I guess at least we have a Dior ;)

We are supposed to get one where the new Ritz is going in. It has not been scrapped, but the project is slow-moving to say the least.

UPDATE: Macerich has announced that Hermes will be opening an 11,000 sf store at Scottsdale Fashion Square in the summer of 2024. If anyone has access to the story in WWD please post it.

I guess Hermes finally gave up on the long delayed Palmeraie project.

Hermès Headed to Arizona

Hermès will open its first store in Arizona at the Scottsdale Fashion Square, though not for another two years.

Macerich, one of the nation’s leading owners, operators and developers of retail and mixed-use properties, indicated that Hermès will open an 11,000-square-foot store in the south wing of the center, in summer 2024. Hermès confirmed the opening. The luxury brand is also opening a flagship on Madison Avenue in Manhattan on Sept. 29 this year.

"Hermès is an iconic brand that is synonymous with quality and classic style, along with a distinctive personality that beautifully complements the curated collection of luxury stores and experiences at Scottsdale Fashion Square,” said Michael Guerin, executive vice president of leasing, at Macerich. He said Scottsdale Fashion Square represents “the heart of luxury in Arizona.”

The 1.9 million-square-foot center boasts a long list of luxury tenants including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Neiman Marcus, Brunello Cucinelli and Bottega Veneta, though within its range of more than 240 shops and restaurants there also are more moderate-priced stores such as Levi’s, H&M, Dillard’s and Macy’s. Adding Hermès to the roster could help attract additional luxury tenants to the center.

Hermès has more than 300 stores in 45 countries. The group employs almost 17,600 people worldwide, including nearly 11,000 in France, among whom more than 6,000 are craftsmen. Axel Dumas, a sixth-generation family member, has been Hermès chief executive officer since 2013.

Macerich’s portfolio is concentrated in California, the Pacific Northwest, Phoenix/Scottsdale, and the Metro New York to Washington, D.C., corridor. Macerich owns 48 million square feet of real estate consisting primarily of interests in 44 regional town centers.

I thought I would revive this for my fellow Phoenicians, I live about 15 minutes from Fashion square mall and can see the construction space that will house our beloved H. Do you forum members near me have any thoughts ideas plans on how to get a grand opening invite? I don’t think it’s too early to start planning? Let’s do a meet up and chat and plan!!

The store is not slated to open until 2025, for what that is worth.

I’ve been an Hermès client for over 10 years and have purchased from numerous locations, with a focus on three states in particular. I currently have a two year relationship with my SA and a solid purchase history with her.

I’m concerned about starting over again when Scottsdale finally opens. How are you all feeling? I am loyal to my out of state SA but it would be easier not to have to fly to shop.
