Hi all. I recently won this scarf and would love to know more about it. Does anyone recognize it or know the name? Thanks for your help!

The name of a H scarf design is often (not always) printed right on the scarf; in this case it is Springs, by Ledoux (his signature may be found somewhere on the scarf, too). This design has been reissued a few times, so I'm not sure which issue this belongs too, perhaps a pic of the care tag and copyright may help.

Hi All!
I posted on the authentication help page and it was suggested that I come here too. So here is the story of this scarf. I came to find it by mistake 2 days ago at a thrift store. I partially saw it on their website and asked for more photos of which they sent. I did my research to find out it is the "Voyage en Russie" scarf. I noticed they did a few different colors and I have found the red border one. Considering that this scarf was reissued by Hermes, I was trying to figure out if it was the original 1984/5 or the reissue because of the way the copyright was done and also it has the initials of the artist unlike some of the reissues I've seen that has the artist's name. I'm not an expert but I wanted to get as much info as possible from whoever might take a look at the photos and could help me authenticate it. (Yes I did buy it.) It was suggested on the other board that the original issue was "Voyages Slaves." They both do look similar. In my limited research, it seems that both scarves were issued around the same time. Any information is greatly appreciated! I'd really like to know more about this scarf.

Hello LoveMyVibrato - You’ve got a lovely and interesting scarf. It’s nice to look at all the people, horses, coaches and sledges!

Judging from the care tag and copyright mark I would guess this is the first issue, from 1984.

Since the Slavs /Slavic people/ are living in many different countries in central and east Europe, among them Russia, as well as in Asia, / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_peoples / I would guess that the first scarf name Voyages Slaves was altered rather quickly to a more appropriate name: Voyage en Russie. Nota bene – this is my guess and not necessarily the truth!

Yours look like its from 1984.

That the original issue was Voyages Slaves is a common rumour but never confirmed. However, the fact the fact that it has been reissues a few times as Russie and never again as Slaves suggests that H had to quickly change the name due to copyright or PC issues which has been known to happen as Holsby suggest.

BTW, which pic has the artist's initials? I was in a hurry and didnt look at all the pics.

Thank you @Holsby! I really appreciate your comments on the scarf!

@Seton - Thank you so much! If you look at photo DSC_0224 and the left angled upside picture of the man in blue with a red blanket of some kind, there are words included by it. Look for "The" and the just very slightly to the right of it and you will see the initials "LD." That is the only place on the scarf I saw that.

^^^ There definitely are initials "LD", I've just checked my scarf. I'm nor sure though whether they're the artist's signature or the part of the original picture. Must be the signature, otherwise that would be too big a coincidence, though all other Loic Dubigeon signatures I saw were the full name, not initials. :shrugs:

Hahaha, well that's a coincidence, I wanted to post the same question about Voyage en Russie too :D

I too found a scarf that doesn't look like 1996 issue, but its name is not Voyage Slaves (dear seton that you for clarifying that issue, did I understand correctly that that name was never confirmed?) It's also signed L.D. and does anyone have any idea which year it might be? Thank you for your time dear experts

My second question is about "Les Folies du Ciel" (see photo below), once again I have found a funny re-issue of this scarf - instead of the title it says: "Gerzon 1971 - 1996 Gerzon". From which I deducted that this re-issue is from 1996 :thinkin:. Tried to google it, but couldn't find any information about it, besides that it mught have been a special issue from the opening of Hermes boutique in Beijing.

Hi fellow Scarfies. Does anyone know who designed Capitales please? I am putting all my H stuff into an inventory and this is the only designer I can't find (except for Carre Kantha but that was an H studio design I think). Would be most grateful if someone could let me know. Thanks.

Greetings... I recently fell in love with this Kermit Oliver design that I got them in two different colors. I am guessing both are from original issue year since both have the same folded caretag still and double borders. Am I correct? Also, what are the official names of their colorways?

Thanks a bunch!

Your 2 Texas scarves are lovely. I, too, am in love with Texas. Generally, most of the double border Texas are original issues but it's not a hard rule. As for "official colorway names", they are unknown. Too long ago.

Thanks Seton, pics attached. I've done the tag too. I did check out the usual ref. sources but couldn't find any info so your help is much appreciated.
