Even i own a few treasured finesse designs but from a consumer oriented perspective, they are not my favorites

A Hermes scarf is VERY expensive and one pays for the quality of the fabric, the intricacy of the design and the elaborate printing process that the company if capable of.

The printing process is much better than for other companies: there are scarves with some 40 colors on the silk, and difficult-to-do techniques such as an ombre effect. And unusual colors eg not just any old beige but a beige with just the right hint of pink, or je ne sais quoi that is it TDF.

BUT, the finesse scarves basically do not take advantage of the capabilites of the printing process. There are 2 colors - that's it - one on the field, one on the design. And the colors are usually pretty straightforward eg a basic scrumptious cobalt for the field, but not, a difficult to find exotic petrole or canard blue.

So, while I own finesse scarves and treasure them, I feel that you are not getting your money's worth as in some other designs eg the ones with 40 colors... but, if you love finesse , go for it

Hi Marietouchet!

Oh I totally agree with you, and the all my others are "regular". I couldn't imagine my Pythagore or Gastronomie or Persona as a finesse and I wouldn't want it. But some like the 2 I now have, do lend themselved to the striking simplicity of a stark line drawing. Almost like the blue prints of a house vs. the finished product. Honestly, I never think about a finesse over any other until I see them....Thanks Marietouchet, I always enjoy your contributions! I've learned a great deal from you and Seton and Friponne!

Yes, there are some scarves that are quite striking in flinesse: IMHO, ones that are (arguably) very busy with too much going on . Grand Cortege a Moscou is one of those

Hello ladies, Is the Orange Polo Chantal de Crissy scarf rare? There is one presently on eBay but the price seems high. The auction ends in less than an hour, if someone can let me know that would be great! TIA.

Help! Can someone please let me know before the auction ends if this is a rare scarf or not? I am watching and would like some info before bidding, thanks!

Noegirl05, this is Danses du Cosmos designed by Zoe Pauwels I think in 2007. It was at the sales in 2009, in twill and mousseline, so it might be difficult to get full retail. Actually, unless this is someone's grail, I imagine it will be difficult to get $225.

I have both the twill and C/S GM being issued for 1986-87; I could be wrong. The designer was Caty Latham.
