it looks like its from 1948 to me. H scarves from that period . . . the screens are much more crude and not properly aligned as you will find in a modern scarf

Interested to read this. I have an Oiseaux des Champs et des Bois bought from a second-hand clothes store in London many years ago and everything seems to point to it being an original 1954 issue. It doesn't have the copyright sign where the re-issues have, and looking at it last night, I noticed that the colours of some of the birds are printed very slightly out of the lines (i.e. what you say above!). The silk is very soft, the hems no longer so plump, and it has loads of pulls, but I absolutely adore it all the same...

On another matter, have just bought Hermes en Voyage in the white background. It's so bright and cheery and colourful and it goes with everything (as you can see I'm very excited by it), but does anyone know if it has a signature on it, and who the designer is? Many thanks!

Hi All. Does anyone know the title of this finesse? Thanks!

Hey, all--

I've been absent from the forum for a while now, but I recently found the following at a thrift store: it is a greyish scarf, patterned with a ship's sails, and called "Vent Portant II".

I have found the name, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about the design, date, et cetera?

The "II" means that it's a "Detail" or "Zoom" scarf of the original Vent Portant scarf. H did these Detail scarves for only about 1-2 yrs and basically H picked a less than 1/4 section of the original scarf and enlarged it to 90cm with a plain border. Artist is Yanick Mannier. Year is 2003.

Thank you so much!

Hi all! Anyone know of a design called "Poesie Personnes"? (or is it "Personne"?) I think it translates to "Poetry People" and I understand it came out or designed in the 1980s?

Hi - It's Poesie Persane (Persian Poetry), came out in 1988, by Julia Abadie. The cash GM is from 2001 (I think?).
(You :whistle:ing about Greenjade's, perchance? ;) If so, congrats - that's a beauty!!)

Yay I'm so glad you got it! :woohoo: That's one design which IMO looks even MUCH better in finesse than the coloured version - and this hot pepper red is a real stunner, congrats!!! :smile1:

Thanks! I really like the finesse patterns and you are absolutely right, I looked up the pattern when you gave me the title, and I would never have given it a second thought in the standard version, but the "pencil-line drawing" style really makes it POP. I think the same about the Axis Mundi black/white finesse I have...Too bad not too many were made, but at the same time it makes them all the more special!:yahoo:
