Hello scarf experts,

I was passing through Heathrow duty free a couple days ago and spotted a little orange cashmere/silk blend scarf. I've never worn anything orange in my life, but I couldn't resist the sheer fabric, the jewel tones, and the beautiful drape.

Alas, it's the only one of my scarves that did not come with the tag attached, so I don't know the name of the pattern. It appears to depict the game Mikado, or "pick-up-sticks"-- another reason I couldn't resist it, as I have fond memories of playing that game on my grandmother's kitchen floor as a child. It's also an unusual size (as far as I know)-- 26 cm. Slightly smaller than a vintage carré, but bigger than a pochette. Any ideas?

Well, this is a little embarrassing-- I'd searched the Hermes scarf database for "Mikado," thinking that might be its name, and come up empty. Searching on this board, however, revealed that the scarf is indeed called "Mikado," and was a 2008 issue only available in a 27" silk/cashmere blend. So I have answered my own query with a simple search AND managed to mismeasure the scarf! :blushing:

The Soie Libre experts may wish to weigh in - isn't there a water skier in there ?

Domink Jarlegant does a lot of boat scarves - Tuiga is a fancy sailboat rather than a family boat, but smashing & probably readily available at a boutique
Older one of his: Face au Large

Would his De madras qualify ? the uber turtle scarf

Vintage ones include Belles Amures - one in navy & one in black brdr currently on Ebay & Spinnakers

Bouteilles a la Mer - Péron - is sailboats in bottles but readily available at the sales probably ? at least a year ago it was..

Vent Portant I & II are others

Interesting, thanks for all that info on Tuiga! I never thought I would fall for boat/ship scarves, but I fell hard for a Spinnakers plisse that I snapped up on eBay. I also realized that I love Tuiga, particularly after reading about it. I'm hopeful that someone who snagged one at the sale will put it up on eBay....And yes, I am a Soie Libre fan and there is a water skiier on it!

I have found this cute scarf from private seller. It called Hello Dolly. Can you guys give me some infomations(like year..) about it please?

I talked to people that the tag looks different to these days. They said Hermes had this in the past(like F in a circle).

Thanks in advance!:smile1:

Spenry, the first scarf you posted looks like Hello Dolly! to me. The second one looks like Junques et Sampans (not exactly sure I got the French spelling correct, junks and sampans in English). I've never seen either in yellow, though I have Hello Dolly! in the world's brightest shade of pink. Love the Junques in yellow!
