I have a quick scarf ID protocol question, y'all...

Arms of the United States, issued 1955 is obviously called that. Is there a different name for the bicentennial US version that isn't labeled Arms of the United States? I've not seen it come up often, plus I can't imagine it's very popular or coveted, so I can't really find info on whether I'm correct in referring to mine as the Bicentennial scarf or as Arms of the United States. I have the later 1976 version, which is where my question arises.

This one? Sorry I don't know an official name. Many call it the Bicentennial reissue of Arms..

Yes, that one. Thanks for your input, J. I feel like perhaps calling it the Bicentennial reissue of Arms is the best choice. I've been looking for Arms or the Bicentennial version forever. It doesn't much appeal to most collectors, but I studied American history in grad school, so I'm thrilled to finally find it. And I want to label it correctly, KWIM?

Yes, I know what you mean. I file it under Arms.

Dear Authenticators,

I'm in a conundrum about which thread to post my enquiry and I apologise if this isn't the right one. I'm looking for some more information about a scarf which I already own rather than a potential purchase. I've searched various threads and can find no info about numbered scarves. My Napoleon has a number 21 on the care label and I believe is part of a limited edition, but again, I can find very little info about limited edition Napoleons (although I believe some were produced in a green c/w for Courvoisier the cognac house).

I've attached some photos, and as you'll see at the top where it would normally say Napoleon, it says Funabashi Seibu 1978-1988 so I'm guessing it was produced for a 10 year anniversary of some sort. The scarf is on beautiful bee jacquard and seems authentic in every other way, I really enjoy wearing it but would love to know more about it.

Many thanks, Parthenope.

I don't think the # 21 has anything to do with the limited edition of this scarf. Anybody can order a run of scarves and ask to print their logo on it, like this Japanese store did, instead of the name of the actual scarf. I vaguely remember that one has to order at least 100 or more.

Thanks provcoll, I didn't know that Funabashi Seibu was a Japanese store although I guessed it must be a Japanese institution of some sort. Presumably they ordered a run of Napoleons for their 10th anniversary.

Hi, please help me identify this cashmere shawl, it belongs to a friend but he can't recall or find the name. TIA!!
