I find that H sizing in particular is very irregular. I've tried on coats in size 32 that are still too large (and I'm not a 32!) and then some silk bottoms that are very TTS with very little stretch. (or maybe I had a big lunch that day lol) So even though I know my typical size, it's still hard to purchase new styles without trying them on first since I never know how it will fit.

Btw, the men's teddy hoodie my hubby got. I tried it on and it's WAY too big in the shoulders and sleeves! But I also own other mens sweaters/sweatshirts in size Small and they are ok... case in point lol.

Yes, agreed. I think that's mostly due to H making different lines in different places. I think their casual, seasonal pieces are one manufacturer/supplier - the catwalk pieces another. In fact, I think there's quite a bit of outsourcing.

When I tried to buy a silk/wool, navy/black Le Smoking suit a while ago, I knew it had been made by a different factory than other suits. Not only was the cut different and sizing 'snug' (to put it mildly) but it was 'Made in Italy' by tailors that were clearly more used to men's tailoring (actually a plus for suits IMO). I loved that suit, but only NBS ordered it in 3 sizes (36, 38 & 40) and only one suit in each. I've never had to go bigger than a 38 in H, but someone else reserved the 38 so I tried the 40, and OMG, the sleeves wouldn't go up my arms (I'm am not a body builder). Honestly, my shoulders are quite 'V' but my arms are normal. I didn't even bother trying the trousers. I'm used to Chanel making sleeves for bird-like limbs and Balmain's ridiculous proportions, but usually H has a slightly relaxed, realistic cut. Anyway, at H I try everything on first.

Wearing my black shearling jacket from Fall/Winter 2023 and my B25 Matte Black Croc Porosus GHW for a mutual 60th birthday party for a bunch of high school class mates. A lot of love and fond memories in the room.

Can't tell what my favorite part of this is - the bag, the dress, the jacket, the heels, the pup, or the comment on long lasting relationships and fond memories... :hbeat:

I have the zipped micro jacket and pants. Good weight for travel, easy to wear as separates. Styling is oddly like Hermes does Dior, but that’s true of a few classic pieces. On the other hand, it’s nearly all synthetic, and it would have been nicer and more refined in wool
Wow, that’s disappointing on a number of fronts. :oh:

This is the Limited edition capsule collection that launched at FSH last week. I’m not sure if and when it will be available in other areas, but my SA said many of the pieces sold out already. He told me the collection is a reinterpretation of previous designs, done in different materials and with extra detail etc. There was a lot of embroidery and very intricate details. He also said it was all handmade in France. The white gown is extra special and is made to measure for the client. All the beads are hand sewn and it is really stunning in person. I dared to ask the price out of curiosity and it’s over 100,000 euros. (IIRC in the mid 100’s, and yes he knows a customer who purchased it for a very special occasion.) The vest/skirt outfits in black and white are actually silk with leather trim and made from scarves, which were cut into strips, then woven and you can still see the original pattern on the scarf. It has a beautiful texture. The embroidery on the cashmere cream vest and poncho are done in raffia. The long gray dress with the lace cutouts has beaded embroidery on the lace, which was really beautiful in real life. The camel sheath dress is actually pieces of cashmere sewn together and then they went back and made the holes in between. I didn’t quite understand this but I thought the dress was beautiful. Everything was just super detailed and it was really interesting for me to learn about these pieces. As someone with no background in fashion, I was super impressed with all the work and craftsmanship that went into these pieces. The exhibition space was also pretty cool and was revamped for this collection to look and feel like a Parisian apartment.

I was able to try on a few pieces. He had actually sent me pictures of the collection before it launched in case there was something I loved so he could hold it for me. I really liked the white silk vest so he held that (and of course it was the last one in typical H fashion.) I also tried on the black version of the vest and the cream gilet, which was way too long on me and not flattering. I ended up going with the white vest, even though I thought the black would be more versatile. It just popped more when I put it on. I asked him how I should clean the vest and he said to bring it back to FSH! Okaaayyy… i guess I better wear a bib when I eat! It was a very cool experience checking out the collection!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has swimwear and can tell me how it fits? I like the one pieces especially, but concerned if they're not lined or how they're proportioned (I'm under 5'2" as a reference and essentially boobless haha). Is it worth trying on? thanks in advance for any feedback :)

As someone who's only starting to get into H RTW, I can't agree more. I'm usually a size 8 on top, and my cashmere jackets are 36 (boxy, oversized fit, could easily go down to 34 and still have it be oversized) and I have a 36 that's a perfect fit (could even go up to a 38 but they were out of a 38). I have a twillaine short sleeved cardigan that's a 40 and it's a perfect fit. Meanwhile when I've tried on the long twillaines, a 34 fit my arms and shoulders perfectly. I don't really care about the size numbers, I just want things to fit correctly.

I have a one piece from many seasons ago which was imo TTS. It’s pretty good! Comes with a little pouch too. If possible I always do recommend trying in person first though

I own several pieces of swimwear and find the fabric somewhat unyielding. I am typically a 32/34 but long waisted so for the one pieces I usually get a 36 for the extra length and in bikinis I do 34. The swimsuit fabric feels high end and of high quality but only some have slots for breast pads and the website is generally inaccurate about stating which is which unfortunately. Always best to try things on in person when possible.

Thank you both! I will ask to come in - I hate being a disappointment (and being disappointed hah) in the RTW department since 90% of what I try on doesn't fit me well but I think my SA understands!

@_queenbee, @textilegirl,

FYI, the material is stretchy like ski pants. The pants have a reinforced waistband that doesn’t stretch, so you feel held in. Pic below shows just how stretchy

also, dye lot is not a concern for me, as i bought them to be worn as travel separates. But I did buy these two items together at the same time. Different dye lots. It’s not really noticeable to the average person who might be having lunch with me lol. But, our members tend to be very detail oriented, so I thought I would mention it. Tagging @Bdbunny , @haute okole , @nymeria , and @DR2014 (individuals who might have considered this info as an interesting data point :smile:

ETA: brunello and Dior both make more refined trousers, (the work is in the cut rather than stretch, and the fabric is better), but both are more expensive. For some things, Hermes is relatively well priced. However, the H synthetic is several steps above Courreges (which I also love, at six times the price)

@sparklehop , I tried on a bathing suit a few years ago, and it seemed to be cut small. I didn’t buy it bc there was insufficient structure. (And I’m not super well endowed in the chest region. I think H bathing suits (and perhaps chanel) were made by Eres, but I’m not sure. If you have any of their lingerie perhaps its a similar fit.
