This is the Limited edition capsule collection that launched at FSH last week. I’m not sure if and when it will be available in other areas, but my SA said many of the pieces sold out already. He told me the collection is a reinterpretation of previous designs, done in different materials and with extra detail etc. There was a lot of embroidery and very intricate details. He also said it was all handmade in France. The white gown is extra special and is made to measure for the client. All the beads are hand sewn and it is really stunning in person. I dared to ask the price out of curiosity and it’s over 100,000 euros. (IIRC in the mid 100’s, and yes he knows a customer who purchased it for a very special occasion.) The vest/skirt outfits in black and white are actually silk with leather trim and made from scarves, which were cut into strips, then woven and you can still see the original pattern on the scarf. It has a beautiful texture. The embroidery on the cashmere cream vest and poncho are done in raffia. The long gray dress with the lace cutouts has beaded embroidery on the lace, which was really beautiful in real life. The camel sheath dress is actually pieces of cashmere sewn together and then they went back and made the holes in between. I didn’t quite understand this but I thought the dress was beautiful. Everything was just super detailed and it was really interesting for me to learn about these pieces. As someone with no background in fashion, I was super impressed with all the work and craftsmanship that went into these pieces. The exhibition space was also pretty cool and was revamped for this collection to look and feel like a Parisian apartment.
I was able to try on a few pieces. He had actually sent me pictures of the collection before it launched in case there was something I loved so he could hold it for me. I really liked the white silk vest so he held that (and of course it was the last one in typical H fashion.) I also tried on the black version of the vest and the cream gilet, which was way too long on me and not flattering. I ended up going with the white vest, even though I thought the black would be more versatile. It just popped more when I put it on. I asked him how I should clean the vest and he said to bring it back to FSH! Okaaayyy… i guess I better wear a bib when I eat! It was a very cool experience checking out the collection!
