Omg I just went through my pics and I forgot to take one of this! And it was my favorite piece! I am going back on Wednesday for an event so I’ll take a picture of the tag and update. They only had one and it was not my size, so I’m waiting for one in my size to come in.

After my last failed attempt to determine my RTW size, I promised myself and my SA that I would not purchase any RTW without first trying it on. When @JavaJo posted their stunning duffle coat and mentioned that it was available in bleu noir, I was sorely tempted. I asked my SA if it was available in my boutique (it was not) but she requested it from NYC and we were both surprised that it arrived yesterday. I love it, my DH says it’s ‘butch’ 😭 and my BFF says it’s great. I suspect it could be a size smaller but thought I’d turn to this community for some opinions.

Agree with @Bdbunny , @tinkerbell68 ! Love this on you! You look amazing if you desire a closer fit, perhaps the boutique could have it tailored down? I also wonder if you could achieve this by moving the Toggle closure. My DH also questions some oversized coats on me, lol, and hebecomes a bit more reconciled to those silhouettes if I pair it with a slimmer fit trouser, denim jean, or legging and a chunky boot.

It’s giving chic mariner. The relaxed fit is lovely.

If this is the duffle jacket with the rocabar lining, I bought this bleu noir version ytd in the SF store.
I thought it was just the piece to break my 10 year hiatus from H RTW! I must say that it’s been jolly tempting with the fantastic showcasing and enabling from all of you in this thread.
I am petite 5’ 2”, usually 34, sometimes 36 in H outerwear. SA could not locate a 34 so I went with the 36. I have short arms so sleeves always have to be tailored shorter, the same with this one. It is an oversized fit largely because the sleeves are cut dolman in line with the side seams. So it should fit as it looks on you @tinkerbell68 which is lovely!
For me, the tailor didn’t think the 34 would fit “less oversized” than the 36 and I really liked the length of the jacket on me.
Unfortunately I won’t get the jacket back from tailoring until early December but I’m excited to wear it!

Thank you so much for sharing both your thoughts based on your experience and the opinion of the tailor...reassuring to hear that it is intended to be somewhat oversized and that sizing down wouldn’t change that. I love how soft and cozy it is and it is perfect for my casual lifestyle. I am inclined to ignore DH’s opinion.

I love it…perfect for the cool PNW and, unlike the cream one I found last fall, I won’t be finding black labrador hairs all over it…or at least they won’t be visible.

I think you’re totally right about pairing it with something a little more fitted…certainly the wide leg jeans did not enhance the look!
