Hermes Replacement Bag Straps

I'm hoping that once all of the straps come out, some will resemble what the amazone straps are for evelynes, mini evies, and some of the Kellys out there! For me, half of the fun of mini evelynes is the multi colored strap! How fun would it be to custom combo a little bag like that by choosing the bag color and strap color? I know Fendi has a similar service, but it would be an easy win for H to offer a service like that, perhaps in the bigger boutiques. Nevertheless, I am interested to see what the straps look like; many people "customize" their bags with scarves, twillies, rodeos, and other charms anyway, and be sure if I see one I love and will match my collection, I'll probably add to the collection. Thanks for the pics too!

I completely agree. When I first saw the cost of bag charms I gasped. Twilly's aren't inexpensive either. I thought these 'trends' , especially bag charms, would have ended by now, but this trend is still going strong. I think the multicoloured strap/diversity of strap option will stay a while. I am not a fan of embellished straps but a colourful strap option is a nice way to change the look of your bag quickly without purchasing a new bag.

I'll reserve judgement until I see them. One of my Bolides is missing its strap and another's needs repairing so it may be cost effective for me. In another way one can only carry and store so many bags so I think it's a great chance to customise what we have already and perhaps make life easier.
For me the length is as important as the colour and design, I can't imagine a Bolide tucked under my arm or wearing a Sellier Kelly X-body. I don't see why it has to be a trend, these extra straps fulfil a need that was woefully neglected for years, I really hope they become a part of H and the choice expands.

I know of another 5 brands are doing straps from super-embellished to plain, Fendi most famously and I'm sure there are more. Gucci has been selling some bag designs with interchangeable straps for decades all-in (since 1970s) but has as yet sat-out the extra straps fashion (as yet). I'm sure most brands will follow, the mark-up is much higher than for bags re-labour and materials. As I said before H had all the data people wanted/needed separate straps readily available way before Fendi so it does come a surprise they weren't ahead of the curve for the ready-mades, I guess customers walking in with Fendi Strap Yous on their H bags woke them up ha ha. But in a few years it won't matter who got there first so long as we get something we actually want.

You can order a plain strap, but the wait is forever.
Leather kelly straps are around $1000. Mine took almost a year to arrive.

I purchased mine two years ago- it was $860.00 plus tax. I ordered a standard length, but I was told that I could request a custom length. I believe the canvas straps are a little less, but not by much- somewhere around 600.00-700.00 for canvas. The wait time is very long, mine was a year, but sometimes even longer.
For those who aren't concerned with a custom matching strap, the new bags straps will be a welcome option.

I love shoulder straps for Hermes. Do not really care what is in style now or later.
I have two short canvas straps for Kelly, so that Kelly hangs just under arm. I love these. Before I took suggestion of a PF member and knotted my Kelly leather strap on top for this look. Un-knot it immediately after use and it it fine.
Two things I wish...
.Kelly sport strap was a bit longer so it would work cross body.
All Trims had come with the extension strap.

I prefer the purse to be the focal point, not the handle. A strap can be left offt. tt fear it would be one of those things where 10 years later self ass, wth was I thinking, a patterned handle? .

Anyone has any info on the price of these straps? I agree with the opinion that they do look too much like Fendi's but at least now we don't have to wait a year to have an Hermes strap made....
