Yes, I once asked FSH and they told me it’s still early, for a white B, as on can restore it only once. No they do not require a local address, you have to pick it up yourself.
3 years Later I asked my SA in Cannes, she accepted it , I left it in September, I received an email with a link where you can follow the process. The bag was ready in March and I picked it up in June this year, when I went on vacation.
It was quite expensive and not very successful as the handles are new and the white looks brighter.
Wow, I didn’t know Hermes spa only restores white bags once. Does any touch-up count as a “restore”? Like, let’s say I send in a Craie birkin for corner/handle touch-up at some point to fix discoloration that naturally occurs with use … does that mean I’ll never be able to spa that bag again?

Wow this is so helpful! I'm concerned about preloved purchases being for a bag that's gone to non Hermès repairers.
Then you get the back and put it in for repair and they refuse to fix it. Understandable, but it highlights the risks for buying on the preloved market.
The only way if you cannot do an inspection yourself is to require a statement about any repairs to the bag and try and include that in the conditions of sale as a term. It's very tricky, but I do love preloved for a variety of reasons. Quality is one. Price is another.

The prospect of lifetime repair and spa is an important factor which contributes to the cost and lasting value of Hermes.
Nonetheless depending where you live there some artisanal repair options available should a bag be rejected by Hermes.

Anyone else drop their bag off for simple cleaning at Madison store in early April and still waiting to get it back? Their estimate was Aug 11th but now it’s two weeks past the date and my online status still shows no change. Do you think I should call them or just be patient?

It's August - nothing gets done now. So sorry, but I wouldn't even think about it until mid September.
They are lovely though, if you DO call- just have the ref number available and they will either look it up right then, or have someone call you back within 24 hours.

Thank you so much, I guess the spa is a waiting game as much as the H game 😂 I will be patient now haha

You didn’t know it because it’s not true. I bought my stepmom a white bag and it’s been spa’d at least twice. I know bc I’m the one who takes it in 🤣

Unless the policy changed quite recently, I have never known this to be true. White bags do require a unique re-colouring process, but it’s not exclusive to one Spa visit— at least, that has been the case in the past. Additionally, I believe this pertains specifically to White bags* rather than all shades in the white colour family. While there may be an objective limit (in a pedantic sense), I’ve never heard of any limits set in place by Spa.

Regarding the example of the Craie Birkin, Hermès would be able to replace the handle if it were discoloured beyond simple cleaning or painting. You didn’t specify a leather type, but since the hypothetical bag is Craie, there should be no issues with leather availability, as all leather types used for Craie Birkins are still in production.

*—presumably including Blanc Cassé and New White but excluding off-whites like Craie, Nata, Poudre, Vanille, Ivoire, and Mushroom. I was told this is because the paint used for White bags contains a special compound in it to prevent yellowing. Not to mention, the white dye/paint Hermès uses has a nominal bit of blue tint to make it appear whiter/brighter, whereas off-whites are intentionally made with brown/yellow/pink undertones to appear less white.

I’m just sharing my experience. This was what I was told.
My bag color is Blanc SAC BIRKIN 30 TAURILLON CLEMENCE
Here are pictures after the Spa, the handles had been changed, and they look quite lighter in color,

And here’s is the description of what it has been done

A few minutes ago, my kelly belt hit a stone on the ground and got scratched on ghw. It’s not a big deal, but I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with hardware spa treatments for belts?

I dropped off my bag at the Madison Ave store in the beginning of June, with an estimated complete date in October. When I asked for an update, they told me that basic cleanings didn't get status updates, and I would only be notified when the job was done.

Hi guys!

I had a accident with my new mini Kelly 😫 and dropped it on a wood panel.

It’s been nicked and looks quite deep. Has anyone been able to repair Epsom leather scratches like this from the Hermes’ Spa?

What was your experience and how long did this take?

Thank you in advance 💕

Hi all,
I’ve cross posted this on a different thread, but hope to get a response here.

I recently purchased this vintage Kelly (shes 52 years young 🙃) in box leather. The seller didn’t disclose that it may have been touched up, but discovered these strange wide brush like streaks all throughout, upon closer inspection. Any ideas what it could be? It looks terribly haphazard for a paint job, could it be a cleaning job gone wrong where it destroyed the top coat? 🤔

Has anyone seen anything similar? Would Hermes spa take this on? Suppose I’m looking for options on how to make her shine again, it’s a beautiful vintage piece I’d love to preserve. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help. Pics to follow.

Yikes. The first thing you need to do is get in contact with the seller to figure out their take on the situation (re: What is the cause of the streaking? Why was it not disclosed?).

To me, it looks like a haphazard, DIY paint job. Based on the hardware, construction, stamping, etc., this a very old bag. I’m sure it was painted to hide cracking/dryness, as it’s next to impossible to find a bag of this vintage on the secondhand market without some form of cracking/dryness. That being said, if you wanted to make sure that it’s not just residue from a cleaning job, you could use a leather PH wipe (maybe check @docride ’s thread for recommendations) to see if the residue goes away.

In the very likely case that this is a botched paint job, Hermès will definitely not accept the bag to Spa. In that case, if you decide you still want the bag, there are many third-party services who may be willing to work on your bag. Best of luck!
