Hi! Im an avid purple lover and just started collecting Hermes this year and I have missed out Raisin season back in 2019. As far as I know Raisin did came out in 2016. Does anyone knows have any idea when Hermes will release Raisin again??

Raisin is not on the FW 2021 color list and there is no way of predicting which colors will come back beyond that. I feel like it’s a semi-classic H color that will be brought back again and again but there really is no telling when it’s next release will be.

Thanks for your reply! Hope H will bring back Raisin very soon! Is there a link to see what’s FW 2021 colors? I was told mauve and anemone is coming back.

Raisin is still around in boutiques from earlier years' production. I saw an Evelyne just the other day. Worth asking for it. FWIW it's been around for almost 20 years.
I was offered a Raisin Birkin 35 about 18 or so years ago so i know its been around awhile.
I used to LOVE 'old' raisin but somehow over the past couple of years I thought the colour didn't look at fabulous as it does in older bags.

Why is that the color not as fabulous can you elaborate more? As in not as purple or has some undertone etc?

to my eyes its not as deep or rich as it once was.
I asked to see a raisin calvi a couple of months ago and it looked very washed out compared to how it used to be-bordering on burgundy hued (I think it had less blue in it) I actually asked my SA to check it was indeed Raisin as I honestly didn't feel the love.
I have however seen vintage Raisin bags online that make my heart melt!

Awww thata unfortunate to know! I just started venturing into Hermes quite recently. Another collector just mentioned that the purple hue is different from vintage ones as in more brown tone. Wish it has more blues! Is 2016 Raisin considered as “vintage”? :P

The best thing to do is actually decide for yourself wether you like the 2016 Raisin or even the current Raisin.
everyones preference is different and personal.
I for instance dont like the more recent shade of Rouge H-others still like it.
I would not consider 5 years old as 'vintage'.
Also please remember that colour takes differently on different leathers so that too will have some effect on how the colour appears to your eyes.

I agree with the other poster, the earlier Raisin was a more purple hue with less of a brown undertone. I've been obsessesed with it as a color for a long while now. The 2016 would count as the re-released later color so tends to have the more brown tone to it. If it's helpful, here's a picture of my gorgeous new to me 1999 B40 in Raisin Chevre taken in daylight that shows the beautiful deep purple color. There's also an Ode to Raisin chain here in the forum that has some fantastic examples of the way the color plays with different leathers and from different seasons.

I totally agree. I love Vintage Raisin and Rouge H especially in box calf. The newer versions of both seem to be more ‘brown’ than ‘blue’. For comparison (sorry I know everyone is sick of these pics!) here is raisin from the early 2000’s and box from the 70’s (since re-homed) which have bluish undertones.

Earlier Raisin (early 2000s) was often in Box, which rendered a wonderful deep purple and is TDF. Also, earlier Raisin had Acajou stitching which was a bit of a contrast (see @jyyanks bag above and hi Jyyanks <3 !). That said, Raisin today can still be very purple - the Evelynes I've seen (Clemence) were not very brown.

Here is 2019 Raisin chèvre. There is no brown in this bag IRL - it can appear blue and in the dark, almost black.

this will be very challenging. at the moment im considering to get a B25 in raisin from reseller and they have a 2016 and 2019 both in same leather togo. it's very hard to see which leather is more purplish or has more blue undertone from picture, sigh! Indeed color is different on different leather, I have a 2020 raisin epsom bearn wallet and a 2020 Chevre raisin, both are different shade with epsom more brown and chevre more of a blue undertone deep purple.

i want to find out if 2016 togo raisin will be same shade as 2019 togo raisin?
