I went to the Manhasset sale for what I thought would be an overnight trip but ended up being 3 days lol. I was really excited about the ticket system and not having to line up and wait around all day long, but that plan obviously didn't work out. There were plenty of people, but it would have been manageable if it was better organized. The power outage and cutting the sale short obviously meant the majority of people did not shop the sale. DH and I got in since we were bumped up on the consolidated list. I'd love to know if they extended the sale past 7 pm on Friday because there were still a lot of people waiting with their "priority ticket." What I found most disappointing and frustrating is that the security/crowd management firm contracted by H tried their best to be fair and go by the lists they had. The store manager, however, was counterproductive to their organization and was letting people cut the line. I think some were clients she knew (which I guess is good for loyal H shoppers), and I think others were just people who bombarded her. I was appalled by some of the behavior of these people- laughing about wanting to get a security guard fired...that's ugly.
The manager seemed to try her best to please people for the moment. I can't say I blame her, but I disliked her way of talking about fairness and equity and then deliberately doing the opposite. Those who shop H know the game...ain't no fooling us!
