Hi there,

I was looking to buy the leather Hermes Bracelet with the studded metal on, sorry i have no idea what it's called.

Well i've been browsing the website for the past few days just wondering whether to buy or not. I'm sure most of you know that feeling!

I had it in my basket about 5 times and always felt guilty so never bought it.
So today i finally told myself that i'm going to treat myself and get it and i have just noticed that the price has gone up £60 from £750 to £810!
That is a pretty big increase, 8% if my calculations are accurate!

I hope all stock isn't going to increase by 8%!!

thank you expertess. Happy New Year to you too!! :D:D i agree that you should charge H for waiting time!! ;);)

i hope you get your special order Birkin sooner rather than later to avoid future price increases!

Thanks much---I hope that it least is not a wait that takes me throough two 20% price increases!

And I am off to Paris next week so I shall also be able to tell you if there has been a price increase on the items on the big sale at Port Maillot. Now that would really really really make me upset because that is stock made two years ago that has been sitting in warehouses that they own---so there could not be any reasonable explanation of increase cost of raw materials, supply & demand, increase of artisan salaries, and whatever corporations tell us!

Wish me look and to all of you too then!

It is crazy if the bags will increase at least 10%. In the past, they would raise it by 2% or so. Last year, the 30cm Birkin was US$8600 and they increased it to $8750. As a percentage, it was larger in Garden Party than a birkin since they raise it by $100 or so.

A 10% increase would mean a 30cm birkin will now be over $9500 in the US and that is ridiculous. They don't give 10% raise to their artisans and sales. Why are companies getting so greedy and don't tell me that it is all about increased costs !!

agree !!!

ALERT: Hermès Price Increase

Just 10 days into the new year, there is some sad (but not unexpected) Hermès news to report. The French luxury house is planning to implement a price hike very soon. How soon and how much? Well, that depends on who you ask. Reps at the flagship boutique on Madison Avenue say it will happen in early February while the Wall Street branch states January 24th as the date. I, for one, believe it will be a gradual increase with select items being hiked on the 24th of this month and the rest following suit thereafter. By mid-February, shoppers should see most items carrying a heavier price tag. Though the dates may vary, both Hermès boutiques do agree on how much of an increase it will be. Markups on their much esteemed leather bags (including Birkins & Kellys), accessories, scarves, and shoes will be roughly 9%. So, why an increase? According to a recent article in Bloomberg Businessweek, Hermès CEO Patrick Thomas states the fashion house may raise prices "at a reasonable level" in 2012 due to "significant" raw-material cost increases, particularly for silk, cashmere and crocodile skin. So there you have it. As disappointing as it is, US shoppers should still feel fortunate because price hikes have already taken place in Europe and parts of Asia. So, if you've been planning on purchasing something extravagant from Hermès, better make a move on it fast.
