Like many others, I had the best time at the workshop! After the workshop, I had conversation with the head of communication at Petit h and learned so much about the work behind the workshop. Petit h collaborated with a NY based Schmalberg Flowers. I was told they are the last fabric flower makers in the Garment District. Months ago, Petit h sent all the leather and silk to Schmalberg Flowers in NY. There, the leather and silk were pressed into different floral and leaf shapes. The next workshop will be in 2025, but I forgot where exactly.

Hi! I know photos have been shared already from the petit H workshop, but thought I’d add. My husband and I went yesterday and it felt like organized chaos, not in a bad way, but there was a lot going on. The woman Liz, who is down from Paris for this event, was very gracious and friendly and we had a great time ‘creating’. The staff hired for this workshop event were proactive and was bringing around the trays of bits and bobs to be used to build our masks. It took me a while to get started as I’m not very ‘creative’ but happy with where we ended up. Overall, fun event and it’s very nice to see Hermes using all parts of fabric and leather into something commercial (not just wastage). Glad we were able to get a spot!

Such a terrific event - thank you to everyone who posted photos and info for the rest of us. I was lucky enough to attend a similar event in Paris and it was a hoot. Hope we will get another one soon- love the idea of using scraps in creative ways. Actually there is a member here who makes most amazing things with h ribbon and bags…

Like everyone else, I had a great time at the Petit H workshop! The only craft available for NYC is the mask, and it changes from event to event. I asked the artist about next year’s location and she thinks it will be in Korea and Taiwan. All the items were super cute and I picked up a few fun little things, like charms, pouches, card holder, silk kimono. They said the apple charm was made especially for NYC but I also saw them online. My SA showed me the wicker basket with croc and I was like “umm can I just get a picnic Birkin instead?” (The answer was no.)IMG_6859.jpegIMG_6861.jpegIMG_6862.jpegIMG_6865.jpegIMG_6870.jpegIMG_6873.jpegIMG_6854.jpegIMG_6855.jpegIMG_6914.jpegIMG_6937.jpeg

Thanks for sharing these photos! Am from Toronto but would’ve traveled down for this! Love arts and crafts and have posted a couple of projects here on tpf (ribbon craft challenge thread) using upcycled ribbons and bags. Re-purposed leather and silk, though, I would been a kid in candy store!
