There seems to be variances in what categories of goodies can contribute to pre-spend. The consensus is that it will likely be different from countries to countries and even stores to stores. Does anyone know if bags, slg, belts and shoes contribute to prespend for quota bags at PA store? Thanks in advance!

I don't think there are any delineated rules, but buying the things you listed definitely helps. Fine jewelry seems to really help at any store. A good relationship with the SA helps as well.

Hey guys! I was wondering what your guys experience is at the Palo Alto store? I have shopped there and do have an SA I work with and started my profile with her in Christmas of 2018. Unfortunately I don't go as often but I feel I have dropped a decent amount of money on Hermes items with my Sales Associate when I do find time to go. With that said, I have expressed interested in a Birkin AND Kelly but side note, I haven't been to the store this year (2020) except for the Lunar New Year when she texted saying she had Red Envelopes for me (I didn't make a purchase that day though as I was passing by PA that day and had to be quick). Mind you we've been Sheltering-in-place cause of the pandemic.

I haven't gotten any texts to shop or anything nor have I texted her. I've had friends go to Vegas or SF as new clients and buy 1 or 2 things and they get offered a bag. So I'm just wondering if I'm just being used for commission at this point? The times I do go to PA, my SA is nice to me but I find her pushing things on me like a bracelet and even a HerBag the last time. I think I calculated that I've spent around $6500 at this point with no offers. Im also wondering if PA just get's a more limited stock and I'm just playing the Hermes game wrong. People talk about "clicking" with their SA...which again...I'm a male who's working with one of the older lady SA's. Again, I don't go often...I think since starting a profile in Christmas of 2018, I went 4 or 5 times total BUT I feel I make decent sized purchases each time. Ties, pair of shoes,Blanket, scarf, bracelet...etc. I'm just debating if I should switch stores since I hear switching SA's in the same store is frowned upon (but TBH the google/yelp reviews are kinda true as the other SAs in PA look snotty). The only downside is SF is further away from me. Any guidance or thoughts or even your two cents could help (or perhaps recommendation on an a new SA in SF would be appreciated). I just don't wanna find myself $10K deep with my current SA and STILL no Hermes Birkin or Kelly offer. or do I keep shopping with her hoping that day will come? Perhaps its a rumor but I heard bags ARE suppose to be a smidge easier to come by cause of the pandemic and the fact that shopping is limited but I don't know how true that is.

Thank you!

It is true so now is the time to make an appearance to your SA, even if you only make a minimal purchase. Switching stores would start you from scratch, and probably even in the negative as you’d have to convince them that you were there for good and not just driveby quota bag hunting.

Thank you!

Go in and shop with her & give her some reminders. Listen to what she is trying to say with her suggestions.

Following will be very brutally honest and apologize if this is what you don't want to hear but:
I would not expect an offer if you haven't even bought anything this entire year (and yes I know there's SIP but still). 4 or 5 visits since 2018 is definitely not enough to make you stand out especially if your total has only been 6500...think about how many clients they have in your store/area. I too have heard that it's been easier, so maybe now is the time to actually go in and make a little purchase. Good luck.

Thank you so much for the honest feedback! You're right though, I know $6500 isn't a lot in the Hermes game from the YouTube I've seen, I guess I don't love the idea of spending 1:1 (or possibly more) but I guess some others are just lucky having spent just money on a bracelet and shoes and BAM! They get the surprise offer of the B or K but perhaps thats the case for Flagship stores since maybe they get more inventory or so I've heard (IE: Hawaii, Vegas, SF, etc). It did also cross my mind that I probably need to make smaller, monthly visits and purchases vs. what seemed to have been quarterly larger purchases to stay top of mind. But alas, I am taking your suggestion and just texted her to see if she has any appointments this week. Hopefully my SA still works there (as I know some people have chosen not to go back to work due to covid).

Actually I am kind of curious, for anyone who has had luck in Palo Alto scoring a B or K, how often do you go in? And do you make a large purchase each time? Small purchase? The only downside is the mens stuff feels limited (Like I don't need ties which I have boughten 3 for special occasions as I don't suit up for work, the Ready to Wear design is also "meh" this season) and I'm told if you're gonna buy things, buy things you love. But I guess I can added a H pillow to go with the Avalon blanket  or a mens version of the Oran sandals? heh we'll see but hopefully I get a text back to set up an appointment :) *Wish me luck*

Large flagship stores definitely have more inventory. I know someone who made a purchase then asked about a bag and got it on the spot in most of the stores you listed. But guess what? Their "one purchase" is 10K fine jewelry.

I suggest stop comparing yourself to the lucky few, there are plenty who drop more than 1x the quota bag spend..in one visit.

It's actually generally speaking easier for men to get offers. Men's RTW is one of the hardest categories to move & they tend to really appreciate purchase in it.

ETA: just saw your last line - wishing you the best luck with an upcoming appointment!

Hi, does anyone have an SA in Palo Alto you can recommend? I started going there last year, and honestly wasn't in a position to buy anything significant at that time. However, my SA has left and I don't know anyone there anymore. I have autoimmune issues, so have not been going out since March! I'd like to restart my account and build a relationship (remotely during SIP). I am not delusional and think I'd get lucky, but I am very interested in other items and figured it's best to purchase at the store than online.

Many thanks!

If you are looking for a B35 you should be getting offers by now - just make your wish clear. If B/K in smaller sizes, I would say continue investing a bit in the relationship, and make sure your SA knows what you really want. SAs here also want to know if you will become a longterm client and you need to find a way to tell her that. After several offers I feel safe to say this location has bags, and the ratio shouldn't be that different from SF.

How do I know? At the beginning of my relationship I remembered my SA say don't wish for black - everybody wants black and it's not easy to get. But as time goes by, she really likes to hear that I just want a black bag - those classic colors and sizes actually come most often at this location. She would have a much harder time finding vert cricket for me.

Thank you so much for your input. It's funny you mentioned a B35 too cause my original wishlist for myself was a B40 fearing anything smaller would look too tiny against my 6ft frame. But chatting with my SA - she mentioned that 40's RARELY come in at PA but a 35 she see's more often and is a good size for a guy so I updated my wishlist. Plus I've actually been seeing guys on social media rock the K25 or even the Mini Lindy's and I guess bags are becoming more unisex which is awesome. It would be a dream to get an offer by next month since it's my birthday too. Anyhoo, I hope my SA knows I will be a long term client as I do want to get my mom her very own Kelly 25 or 28. Shoot, I mite want a mini Kelly at some point. Thank you again though for providing your insight/input! hoping for the best :)

A B40 is indeed rare. I like seeing guys rock H bags of all sizes. Good luck!

I know this is a long shot but I’m hoping if anyone knows the SA I met here. He was great towards me and I regret not asking for his card. He was a somewhat tall, Asian male that is patient and polite. I know the description is general but hopefully it might do.
