I also heard she was fired but don't know what happened...

She must have been fired due to sales. My sa seemed to make it appear that due to her bad ordering choices they were losing out on lots of sales. I have asked for a bright color garden party and I can't even get that from the SF store. I understand the birkin and kelly demands but they should be able to have a good variety of other items. Those of us who truly love Hermes love lots of other things besides birkins and Kelly's. I hope the Palo Alto store brings a new vibe the SF Bay Area Hermes market.

Woah, I hadn't 't heard that the Manager was gone , much less fired. I actually liked her very much and am sorry to hear the news.

Given the general scarcity of H items and the huge tourist trade here, I am often disappointed by low stock, but never felt/knew she may have played a role.

Two SAs that I really liked also left recently. It will be interesting to see what the tone of the PA store is like , once it finally opens. I am generally down there once every 6 weeks or so , so I will enjoy having a whole new H playground!

I agree that the inventory in the SF store has been rather pathetic the past few years. I had always assumed that anything desirable sold immediately since I only get down there every two or three months. I'm glad there will be another boutique in the Bay Area, I'm sure that store will be very successful.

I didn't realize the managers role either until my sa pretty much went off on a rant! She said this manager would keep ordering the very large toolboxes and even though the toolbox bag did well they had a hard time selling the larger ones because it is a large bag and it doesn't suit a lot of people easily. My sa also mentioned that the manager would not take feedback from the SAs when deciding what to order. I really hope this new store can bring some light to our Hermes neighborhood in the bay area.

I went to the SF store the past two weekends and I still see the large toolbox on display!
My SA told me the new manager is really good and has a lot of experience. He was originally in SF just to filled in for one week as he was based in NJ. Now he is in SF permanently. He seems nice guy.

OMG, I remember that enormous toolbox! I am 5'10" and that thing would be huge on me...not quite sure who will buy it since I don't really see it as a man's bag, either. I'm going in this weekend - will have to check to see if the bag is still there!! :D

it could be there just as a "display" sent over by paris and they don't expect to sell it? My SA in SF once told me the humungous croc birkin was just that. They expected to send it back and no one would ever buy it. The stock is so bad in SF!

Hard for me to figure out what those zany French people are thinking. The crock B with diamond hardware sold like lightening...I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to "try it on" - for 10 seconds!!

Well, we shall see what the two big new changes (new SM for SF and new store in PA) bring us...looking forward to it!!

And now off to Paris this weekend for the sale - LOL!!

Have you guys had any luck though getting a B in SF? I was planning on going to SF for a Victoria ii and try to get on a wait list for a B. The waiting..sigh.

There is a thread on the SF boutique - that is probably the best place to look for info like this, as this thread is about the soon-to-be store in Palo Alto! Good luck!

Thanks. I thought of asking here since the posts above have some mention of the SF boutique and the SF thread had been pretty quiet for almost a year. :smile1:

I can't wait for the new Palo Alto location. :smile1: We never have a lot of stores here than say SoCal.

Yes, you can get a B in SF - need to buy a lot of stuff, tell them what you want, and if you want something specific probably wait till it comes in. Or buy a good amount of stuff like a shoe and maybe you'll be offered one in a month - if you're not that picky...or a year. Probably depends what they get in and who else wants it. Someone on the "what have you seen lately" inventory thread said there were 2 B's in SF recently! I was told that the new store in Palo Alto might have more stock on hand in the back for local clients and that it will *probably* not open this year. More like 2016 or 2017.
