Reporting back from the Miami store!

-This IS the temporary location (I was wrong). The new store, due to open in 18 months.

I never ever thought I'd buy an Evelyne. Never saw the appeal. But I tried it on and LOVED it. So light, so flat (I got the PM size) and much more chic than I'd ever thought. Great alternative to my B's and K's, and easy on the pocketbook. I'm in love with it, especially the color.

So happy for you, I love the Evelyn, but the new color is perfect. I went to this store about a week ago. Much closer to me than BH which might be a bad thing. This is definitely temporary, and basic. Looks like the same merchandise from the BH store. At least 3 of the SA are from BH. I really hope you get your B. If I had been waiting for that store to follow through what they said they were working on for me, I would still be waiting. After several visits and several purchases I got the sense they really were just leading me on. I might be slow but I'm not stupid and I definitely am not patient. Since I was on a mission I tried other boutiques and eventually found or was offered what I was looking for.
So yes the SAs are very sweet and helpful, but for me the big ticket item never came. I still will go to the store and I am still hopeful for the future, but I continue to have other backup plans.
The opening of the "real" store will be fun I think and yes hopefully new goodies. Congratulations on your beautiful Evelyn in the hot new color:)

You are my bag twin. I just got the same Evelyne a week ago. It looks stunning on you!

Thank you! Do you love it? I can't wait to wear it. It's a fresh alternative to the B's and K's and so much lighter.

Thank you! And I think you're exactly right, this is temporary and basic - they just literally moved the BH store and its staff and inventory. My hope is that when the new store opens, it will reflect the change in venue. The design district is younger, hipper, and more artsy than Bal Harbor, which, nice as it is, it's still a mall. It's hard to get that boutique feel in a mall, and the staff even mentioned that. And hopefully, they'll stock it accordingly. Otherwise, the won't do well. I don't see gallery owners and the crowd from South Beach flocking there unless they freshen it up a bit. So we'll see. :smile1:

Reporting back from the Miami store!

-This IS the temporary location (I was wrong). The new store, due to open in 18 months, will be a few blocks away. Apparently the Prada, LV and Louboutin stores on the same block are also temporary - all waiting for construction to be completed on the permanent stores a few blocks away.

-One floor (I was wrong again - looked like two from the street). Basically, this is the Bal Harbor store moved to a new location. Similar in size and inventory. The new store will be much bigger, they say.

-The new store MAY have a craftsperson (staff seemed very excited by this; I hope it's true).

-Some of the same salespeople from the BH store.

-Inventory:

lots of casual RTW, bathing suits, cover-ups, beachy clothing.
-the usual enamel bracelets, KDT bracelets, one (non-exotic) CDC, array of silk and cashmere scarves

Jumping boots in stock, both brown and black

A Picotin and one Lindy on display. Some Garden Partys, Double Sens, a Steeple, some canvas beach bags. All gold, cafe, beige (clay?), earth tones. I felt like I was on the website, I hate to say it.
I got the sense that they are low on inventory, and that a lot of it is just transferred from the BH store. But I'll bet that when the big new store opens they'll have a huge shipment of new stuff, including bags.

I worked with a lovely saleswoman named Yeni (Jenny). It took a few minutes for her to warm up to me, as I wasn't a familiar face or Bal Harbor customer, but she did warm up and was very sweet. I did not ask outright for Birkins or Kellys - I was too shy. But eventually the conversation turned to things I was looking for, and since I'm very specific about size (30 cm for a Birkin, 28 cm for a Kelly, and PHW for both) and colors, she wrote down info when I paid and said they might have to request a Kelly that size at the next PO, as they usually get only 32's. She said she would be on the lookout for a 30 cm B too, but that they mainly get the 35 and 30's are rare. Whether they had any 35cm B's in the back I don't know - I didn't ask directly.

Did I buy anything? Well….yes. We were talking about colors as I looked at scarves in the blue tones and I said that I was in love with Bleu Orage, such a beautiful, parisian blue. So she went into the back….

Evelyne looks great on you! Wear it in the best of health! I am looking forward to seeing the permanent store in the future and hoping the stock is much better! Thanks for sharing the details of your visit!

Thank you so much! Since this store isn't too far from where I live, I will pop in now and then to check inventory and progress on the new store! I'm very interested to know if there will be a craftsperson there. And I'm sure that the opening will be a fun event. :smile1:

I just scored a Birkin 35 etain in togo leather with phw at the new Hermes boutique in Miami. I'm so happy bc this exact color and leather was on my wishlist and my dream finally came true. :D

Great Combo indeed - Definitely worth being on a wishlist, and I think it might be on mine!!!

So many congrats!!!! :D:D:D

The SM today told me that since the new Miami store will be a flagship store, she is almost 100% sure there will be an in-house craftsperson! So excited. Roughly a year until it opens (the current location is temporary).

Hi Everyone,
I have been to the Bal Harbor Boutique a few years ago last time in 2011 and service was very "cold". I have never purchased anything from an Hermes Boutique in the US, I have purchased a Lindy in Paris and some small items in the Rome boutique (does this mean I'm in the US system?) Anyway I have never been to the new store at the Design District and this week will be my first time there. How's the service? I am going to be very honest I really want a Birkin. Should I try to get one in Miami or try to get one in Beverly Hills (I'll be there in May) or try Wall Street (I'll be there in June)
Thanks Everyone!!

You should ask wherever you are because you may get lucky where you least expect it. :smile1:
