Hermes leather bracelets--worth it or not?

I'd like to disagree very slightly regarding the "rock 'n' roll" vibe of the CDC. Yes, it can certainly be edgy, but if you put it together with a classic look (say, chinos, a white blouse, boots) it fits in perfectly there, as well. I think, like most of the best accessories, Hermes items--be it a piece of jewelry, a scarf, or a bag--can be whatever the wearer wants them to be. They transmogrify in accordance with the rest of the outfit. JMHO.

Hi Mindi B! I agree! I wear mine with a pants suit and pearls!

If you are not sure how much is too much in terms of H leather bracelets, Kelly Double Tour and Rivale bracelets are a good place to start. KDT, Rivale and Hapi bracelets are all fairly narrow and subtle to wear. Kelly Dogs are wider but still subtle because the hardware is minimal. You can build different looks using various combinations of KDTs, Rivales and Kelly Dogs,. Here's a photo so you can compare widths and hardware:

(P.S. A leather cuff is also a good starting point because there isn't any hardware at all!)

It's a matter of personal style but in my opinion you can't go wrong with any H leather bracelet!!;);) Here is my contribution, Gator Kelly dog with wide Noir-noir clic-clac! :smile1:

omg!!! just saw ur collection...totally *gasps*

I have two CDC's (green croc and fauve alligator), a Hapi in dark brown, and a white Kelly Double Tour. I love the look of leather bracelets (whether H or not) paired with real gold pieces and a fine watch. Gives it a nice edgy look. H leather bracelets are sturdy and durable. I find I don't wet them when I wash my hands as long as I'm careful, so that's never been a problem for me.

My only caveat with them is the color. Light colors get dirty easily. My white Kelly DT, is a constant pain to keep white. The stitching gets dirty and it loses that very cool pristine whiteness. The leather is epsom so it's easy to wipe clean but the stitching..... ARGH!!

I imagine a Barenia bracelet would have problems with water stains. So my advice is to stick with darker colors and/or lower maintence leathers for a bracelet!

:yahoo::lolots::woot::happydance::woohoo::roflmfao::yahoo:Since I lost all of my words upon staring at your collection of bracelets, I thought the little guys might be better. How do you ever decide what to wear? Do you have enamels and clic clacs and others??? Please show! I can't even believe what I am seeing. As if your garden party wasn't enough....:DYou all have inspired me to buy my first cdc. I just ordered it without even trying it on. Holy cow!!!

Hi sparklelisab! I started with enamels and clic clacs first, and then fell down the slipperly slope to KDTs, Kelly Dogs, CDCs and so forth! It's an old family photo, but...

I love my KDT (brown with silver hardware) and I'm hoping to get another one this fall. I don't like having to remove it every time I wash my hands, but it's worth the slight inconvenience. Once I set it down on the water cooler at work and left it there! I didn't realize it until I got home. I'm sure it would have been fine until morning, but I made the 60 minute round trip drive to retrieve it.

Wow!!!!!

My first H purchase was probably a bracelet and then a belt. I've since moved on to several bags and a few SLGs. I would say that the bags are my primary interest, but bracelets come second! I love them. The craftsmanship is exquisite and though the prices are high, they are a relatively small indulgence at Hermes. I also have to say that they never really go out of style and have worn very well over the years.

I think it's a good investment. I wear mine on their own or with other leather bracelets for casual outfits or I stack them with some fine pieces for evening and parties. I especially love the interchangeable looping bracelets. There are two in every set, it comes in all sorts of colors, either with PHW or GHW. Such a pity I don't see a lot of them these days 'cause I'd love to get a few more sets!
