Hermes leather bracelets--worth it or not?

I am totally biased toward the CDC. I have tried other leather bracelts such as the KD, KDT, Rivale and Hapi. I sold all of them. They were nice for stacking, if I was in the mood but nothing kept my  like the CDC. I have a large collection of exotics and leather CDCs including Barenia. I have had my Barenia for over 3 years and it is an amazing leather to own. The leather will develop a patina over time so any scratches or water marks that appear on the leather will go away from the natural oils on your finger tips. Just rub the scratch and wah-lah... gone. As far as exotics, I am very careful to wipe off the skin after washing my hands bc water splashes are obvious to me. The shine on the surface will dull after a water spot has set in. If you wipe the skin immediately, the stain will not set in. I wear my CDCs daily, even in hot weather. No issues. I say GO OR IT :smile1:

Thanks, IF! I really really want a barenia. I just love the feel of the leather, but I will keep an open mind for epsom. I don't love epsom on bags and SLGs, but maybe it's the perfect leather for bracelet if one lives in a hot and humid climate.

I live in a hot and humid climate and I have more than 10 Hermes bracelets in exotic and non-exotic. I don't have any issues with my bracelets... they have held up pretty well except for slight scratches on the hardware. I'm generally very pleased with my bracelets.
.

Thanks, Miss Al! I'm glad you have good experience with H leather bracelets in hot and humid climate. May I ask the type of leather you have on your non-exotic bracelets?

I also wear the Barenia during hot & humid weather & due to the natural skin of Barenia, it's turning a little darker already. In fact, I am looking forward to that day. Lastly, I feel the CDC is getting a little tight after a long hot & humid day, not sure if my wrist swell or the sweat or the leather shrink. With CDC, I can easily adjust a little bigger. Another bonus reason loving the CDC now!

This is exactly what I want...darker partina-ed barenia...

Thank you, MsHermesAU! I'm glad to hear that your CDCs are all doing well in hot and humid climate. May I ask the type of leather you have on your CDCs aside from exotic? I love croc but I know I will be too scared to wear it on a daily basis. I'm too worry about ruining the skin.

I had a swift CDC (which I sold) and I still have my white epsom CDC. I was a bit worried about getting white, but after 2 years it still looks brand new. Both of the leather types were totally fine.

I don't think the leather is quite as precious as you think - it can withstand quite alot. From what people are saying above, it sounds like even barenia wears really well despite heat. I say pick the bracelet you like the most (regardless of the leather) - I'm sure it will last you a very long time :flowers:

huh, I love my white epsom CDC GHW and wear it all of the time when I am on the West Coast. Never have had a problem with it in the heat, so maybe this might be a good choice for you.

Vigee, sounds like epsom is the safest choice for me but I want to try barenia on as well. I'll call my SA and ask her about CDC availability in the store. She told me they don't get very many CDCs but maybe I get lucky :)

I have a clic h and am looking to get my first leather bracelet. I'm debating between KDT or behapi. I'm looking for something subtle and I think both fit the bill. Would love to hear what your thoughts are and the wear and tear of each. Thanks so much!

I love the Behapi because they are a classic by itself. It is light and great for stacking. The clasp on the KDT can twist around a lot due to the weight of the hardware.

purse, I totally agree with chkpfbeliever, as much as I love the look of the KDT it does twist around so that the beautiful clasp is always on the underside of my hand. This does bother me to some extent so I gifted my newest KDT to my youngest DD who totally loves it and does not care if it slips and slides. Think that a hapi bracelet is a necessary H staple, so you can't go wrong there.
