I'm late to this thread, but I also vote Kelly in Retourne style. I love the look of Sellier but for me it only works in the size 25 or mini because the bag is small enough where you're not fumbling around too much to get in and out of it. I'm super practical though and get frustrated easily lol
As for the color - rose pourpre is gorgeous! But like other people said, make sure it's the color you can add to many outfits. Same with hardware color :)
And don't fool yourself - it will be your first, but won't be your last!

PS. Your bag collection sounds so cool!

Many thanks for your thoughts! Yes, color is such a hard decision! I really like the fun vibrant colors but I know I need to make sure it will work with many ensome....hence I regress to black. Although that is the safer and better bet for the 1st bag...but I really love the beautiful colors. I am trying to have a balance of practicality and desire...so perhaps a vibrant color that is on the darker tone...like maybe a plum tone. No matter what I am wanting to do....finding the color is another adventure.....sigh

Don’t feel bad because you’re choosing a neutral, these bags are so gorgeous you want to enjoy wearing them often! Especially your first one. My first Birkin was 35 cm Gold Togo with Gold HW. I wear that thing ALL THE TIME. And I’m never bored of it. I don’t care if it’s heavy, it’s my work bag, my travel bag, my running errands bag. If I got my first one in a bright color I would like it for sure but I probably wouldn’t wear and enjoy it as much. Good luck with your hunt, and please share once you buy your pick!

Ive owned a kelly 32 and reissue 224,226,227 and ended up selling all my reissues later on but have kept my kelly. Firstly the leather and craftmanship is better in the kelly, in my opinion. The reissue caters to more casual style for me. Kelly can go both ways. And for some reason i just find the kelly design and aesthetic more classy. I like it though that the reissue can be worn crossbody.
