I was lucky enough to acquire a B30 in VdG togo from a reputable seller that I am in the process of having authenticated. It's absolutely gorgeous and I love it, only, it seems to have more brown undertones than I anticipated. I'm wondering - does anyone have VdG and Etain? Is it possible that the reseller could have confused the two?

I have photos of the same bag in different light. I love the color! I just want to know which it is

IMO, but I am no expert, the first pic looks like etoupe crossed with etain (and the second pic looks like etain crossed with graphite, but I am no expert. It is gorgeous, congrats :)

I have both but in different styles:
VA: K28 retourne Togo
VdG: Flash backpack evercolor or evergrain (not entirely sure)

When next to each other, VA is cooler toned (appears even grayer) and VdG is warmer (the olive/etoupe-y tone comes out more) - although I do believe both are neutrals.
Thanks! And you can see the difference in color clearly when bags are side by side? I have a vert de gris in epsom and I love it, but I have had my eye on Vert Amande and wasn't sure if they're different enough? I also can't decide on hardware for VA.

To me, they look distinct even if they're in a similar family (if that makes sense). Both of mine are also in PHW. Unfortunately, I don't know what VA looks like in person in Epsom or other leathers. But as we know, sometimes the tone can be quite different in another leather.
Vintage Kelly Girl (IG) has a VA in Epsom and GHW. To me, it always appears on the lighter/cooler side (compared to my Togo): https://www.instagram.com/vintage.kelly.girl/?hl=en
But it could just be the lighting! haha sorry if that doesn't help much

I googled this - maybe it can help? https://rare-collection.store/en/blog/100-hermes-color-guide-green-treasure-part-2-dark
From here, it appears VdG can be quite dark and browner than I've seen (in other leathers).
