i'd say things are hidden in the back. so you need that special luck or special connection for them to show you any goodies.

went on weekdays and the place was swamped!

Hermes Milan actually has excellent stock - not just reserved for VIP customers but if you buy several pieces of RTW, you will almost certainly get asked "if you are looking for something specific".
Worst thing to do is to ask outright for a birkin.
They've put kellys on the shelves, and a rare birkin or two.
Pretty knowledgeable staff.

the sales person, the female one is snobbish, but that was her downfall. I asked her if they had either a blue or brown evelyn gm and hse said no and ignored em/ us ( dont know if being Asian had anything to do with her snobbishness), anyway, awhile later, a male salesperson, name is Damian Matias Sassone, came by, asked how he can help, I gave him the same request and said it might be useless as the lady sadi they had none, he raised his eyebrows and said, wait, Ill be back, and he came right back with a gold and a blue jean evelyn gm! voila! We purchased the gold and added an impulse buy, a swift pink jypsiere 28, that I just tried on and couldnt leave without. So poor snob lady, hope she learned her lesson by losing the commission!

Next time I go to Milan, I will definitely do business with this SA again

I'm too Asian. Is it difficult if I don't speak Italian?

Well done !

Keep in mind, though that Milan is a place with many tourists... That store always feels very busy to me, just like FSH, and sometimes SA can get exhausted..... You were lucky to meet the right Sa for you.

I had same kind of snobbish and actually a bit rude customer service from the Milan boutique! I was there couple of weeks ago and wanted to see the oran sandals but they were sold out. The whole time we had conversation I had the feeling that they didn't want at all to help me or even talk with me, althoug I was being very polite and kind as I of course always am. I also asked if they had the Evelyne bag but they didn't, not in any colour at all (or so they told me) and I said I will contact them later when I am back home in case they can ship it to me. The other one gave me the card and wrote her name (Marisa Pisotti). Today I called there and told her I am still trying to find the Evelyne. I tried to ask about the colours, like etoupe/gold and the sizes pm/mm, because it is hard to decide which one of the sizes and colours would be best. She was very short with words, just told me that they don't have the bag and I can think myself which one I want to choose. That´s it, bang, and the conversation was over. I would have wanted to use her expertise and opinions to have better understanding about the sizes and what are the best selling colours etc but the conversation ended very quickly. :wtf: Can't belive it! I definitely won't call Milano store again, that´s for sure. I will take my money somewhere else where they are appreciated. So, can't say much about the stockist in Milan. Aparently they don't have much of anything there, if I should believe those SP:s. Btw, could anyone help me with the Evelyn bags!!?? :sos:
I am desperately trying to find the colour etoupe (or gold) in PM or MM size from Europe. And does anybody have any tips to give about this big decision?? Which one of these is nicer in live and which one of the sizes is more practical?? THANKS heaps!!

If you're in Italy, why don't you try to call Bologna or Florence stores? SAs in Bologna were always helpful to me, I can't tell about Florence because I've never been there

I think they were all very snobbish. Almost everyone told me "Go look there, it's there, go upstairs someone there will show you!" I'm not used to be commanded like that, think it's a bit rude by the Sales people. It's not like it was flooded by customers the times I've been there and it's not a HUGE store.

^ I am assuming precisely this was your downfall. being snobbish works much better as they 'think' you are important or something. used to do this in Munich's Maximilianstrasse and always worked a treat :-). Better yet, take your business elsewhere. cannot comment on the evelyn sorry.

General advice: move your business re Hermes further North - they recently opened a small boutique in a city called Varese close the Lago Maggiore (love it there). by train it would be around 1 to 1.5 hours from milan (cheap travel too). call them beforehand as they might not have a huge selection. they are much more friendly though, or at least were so last year.

my mum was in the market for a Kelly a couple of years ago and went there to check out what they had as they just opened. she actually asked them whether these were real  (what possessed her, no clue, it's not like she hasn't shopped at Hermes before..) and they took it in a stride.
