Hermes in Mexico City

Hi all,
I just got back from Mexico City yesterday and it was my first time visiting the city. While I was there I visited both of the Hermes stores: Masaryk and El Palacio de Hierro. Part of the reason why we went to MC was for Dia de los Muertos, but also I had seen on YouTube a blogger was able to score a B35 in black 3 weeks ago there.

Masaryk: Fairly small two story store, kind of hidden. On the first level was a some scarves, jewelry, fragrances, nothing out of the ordinary or too special really. Upstairs was very little RTW, some belts, and a small shoe selection for both men and women. The SA was very very nice. He stated they had literally no bags, no B/K/C , or even garden party or picotin. He stated he thinks they might be getting some in for the holidays, but like how most SA's say they never know what they are getting until it arrives. He said it is very rare for their store to get many B/Ks just because they don't really have a high demand like how it is in the U.S.

El Palacio de Hierro: Small selection of RTW, shoes, belts. Asked about B/K and he said they don't have any, he did say he thinks they might get 1 or 2 in December, but once again not sure. I didn't ask about any other bags, but did see a lady being shown a navy picotin.

Overall, both stores were fairly small and small selection. Nothing really caught my eye. I was just in Honolulu a couple weeks ago so from going to that store to the ones in MC is a big difference. I will say the SA's in MC seem to be more upfront and you don't get that feeling like they are "hiding something in the back".

I had the weirdest experience in Mexico City. Thought I would share at the Masaryk stores.

I went for the first time in November, bought just one small silk item. The SA was super nice, showed me a vert cypress picotin, but it wasn't quite the color I was hoping for seeing it in person so I passed. We exchanged numbers and we texted back and forth on a few diff items I had asked about (shoes, jewelry, etc) since I was going to be back a few months later. About 3 weeks before I was coming, she mentioned she was hoping she'd have a B35 in blue agate. That seemed so promising!! I'd never been offered anything before, but 3 weeks notice seemed kind of odd, but I kept my hopes up. (Also weird for her to have said "I hope we have it.") So didn't seem like a real offer. Then on the day of the appt I showed up and the manager said the SA wasn't working that day...so I didn't really stay, but I also stupidly didn't mention the B. Maybe would have been helpful to try to tease out with the manager why someone would dangle that half-offer. I messaged the SA and of course she didn't respond until the next day when she was working and said she was sorry the B35 arrived but it was scratched so they sent it to Paris. :eek:like what? I offered to come in later in the week if she thought she might have any shoes or new RTW in in my size, but didn't hear much else. Idk why she would have spent the time messaging me, taking my requests and checking inventory across all types of items, and then just be "meh" when I was in town? (For context I don't have an H store near me, so on the road is my best bet at an SA relationship.)

Separately - I agree with @aiko610 on the assessment of both stores. Masaryk did have evelyn's and picotins when I was there this week and the last time I was there in mid-November. In November they pulled out several for myself and a lady who was in the store when I arrived - she got one in gold!

You should have mentioned to the SM that the SA had told you they would have a B35 for you. Maybe the SM could have worked sth out for you (maybe a B could have magically "appeared")
