Just wonder how waiting list work. Do they really call you back? I live in NY. Can I get on the waiting list for a diff state?

Hi ladies, I'm from melbourne too, wanting to share my experience yesterday at H melbourne!
I am lucky enough to be offered a birkin from Suzie after I put into waiting list for just a week!
I put my waiting list down on a b35 bleu electrique, and Suzie called me the day before, telling me there's a b40 bleu electrique in the store so I was so excited to go down, and when the manager took the b out, it was a Mykonos b40~~ Suzie was so sorry for the mistake and quickly offered me a Tosca B35! Unfortunately, tosca is not my color, when i took it on me, tosca didn't speal out for me=(
For those who have not seen Tosca, just to let you know, Tosca is a dusty raspberry pink in Togo, I would say it is between Rubis and Bois de Rose =)
Told Suzie it's going to be my 21st birthday in Dec and she said she will try to get me one b35 in bleu electrique before my bday YAY!! wish me lucksss~

I did purchase a few from the store but i think make more appearance into the store and show more interests help a lot
Wow so lucky! I spoke with a gentlemen today and he told me I had to wait 4 years!! Wish I had known earlier and would've tried my luck on the mykonos or tosca as I love them both! So you were on the list for a week???
Yes! I put my name down on bleu electrique and got the call within a week! The gentleman you referring to is the assistant manager, I think it really depends on what did you ask for, try putting your name down on Tosca as this is the new color and chances of getting it would be so much easier
He said I have to wait 4 years for any bright colour as the list is very long
i am after tosca but from the sounds of it my name won't be coming up any time soon hope it doesn't take that long! Any news on your bleu electrique??

You need to visit the store and be familiar with whats available or coming and put your name on waitlist. In general, everyone who is making a call and ask for a Birkin or Kelly will be told 2-4 years of waiting period

Just my 2c worth, but, you really have to build a relationship with a SA before you can just walk in & ask to be put on a waitlist.
You need to put in the hard yards first! Purchase regularly, build up rapport & then they will see you as a regular committed client.
I know this may sound harsh but otherwise you are just seen as a random person who has just wandered in to the H store wanting a Birkin.
As for waitlists, I know of friends who regularly make substantial purchases to the be told 'oh, we have a Birkin out the back if you're interested?'

question, what's classified a substantial purchase?? A bracelet or a scarf or numerous items in the one purchase?? I have also heard that if you buy a couple of things a birkin tends to be available for purchase. I wish I could buy a few items, but have have saved enough for just a birkin which is my dream bag
