Hi Lady Rider, and everyone here. I have been following this thread from the time it was started but I just recently logged in as I can't trace my previous "password" for my past log-ins.
I attended the Hermes Launch last March 10 and the above 30cm croc with diamonds apparently was sold at Php 8.9M to a chinese businessowner of a supermarket chain in manila. The few birkins on display were also part of the "wait -listed" items, so according to the SA, they just asked the permission of the owners who were among in the waiting list to have the birkins displayed for the said event.
And I agree with you, regarding re-sellers, yes, there are "reputable" resellers in our country, some would even actually sell it for installment if somebody close to them can vouch for the buyer's integrity. Don't be afraid to buy from them, ask around first so you can have peace of mind before paying for it.

Luxfab, so funny we have the same experience regarding "vip" H clients asking for an "extra" orange bag. One eldelry matronic client even asked for 3 extra scarf boxes but Ms Jessica quickly refused as according to her number of the boxes they have are just in proportion to the number of silk stocks they have, ms vip client got a little annoyed...haaay

As to the store inventory, I had a chance to visit a couple of weeks ago however there are not much on display. They have bolides, lindys and evelynes on the shelves. At that time, there weren't any birkins or kellys in inventory however, the SA mentioned that they will have the April shipment soon. It doesn't hurt to ask them when you get to Manila.
Regarding distance of the store from Dusit hotel, it's not that far but it's a 15 minute walk. You just pass through the Glorietta mall and into Landmark dept. store. Look for the pedestrian overpass in Landmark, that connects to Greenbelt 4. Et viola.....you will immediately see the H store on the left side as you cross the overpass (that crosses through Makati Avenue).

Hi! I have always been an LV fanatic and have a growing number of LV items in my collection. It is not really a big collection but already quite satisfying for me. Yet, reading this thread tempts me to make that one big crazy leap. I think I am beginning to crave for a Hermes Birkin. Maybe just one or maybe two, he,he,he. Who knows I may be luckier in the near future. But I need to know which leather is sturdier, the Clemence or the Togo? I want a bag that always retains its shape. Also, I am inclined to get a dark colored Birkin. At first, I wanted a black or a chocolate brown birkin but most of my LVs are brown and black. So, what do you think of these colors: Rouge with Gold H, Prune with Gold H and Indigo with Gold H? Which would better serve as a bag from day to night events. Please help me Hermes experts. Thank you very much.

I'm no expert but allow me to answer some of your questions...

~ to my knowledge both Clemence and Togo are sturdy leathers. (If what you mean by that is it does not easily scratch and also not very sensitive to water.) togo retains it's shape more than Clemence because Clemence will "floop" faster than Togo with use. if you want to delay the "flooping" process some of the members here suggest that you carefully stuff your birkin and rest it on it's side as it was originally, when it was in it's box. there are other leathers that do keep their shape longer - epsom and vache liegee are two examples.

~ in my opinion, all the colours you listed are equally beautiful it just depends on which colour will suit your wardrobe more. as for day-to-night use, you might want to consider the size factor as well. I find that the 30cm is more versatile that way, as the 35cm may be too big for evening events. ideally for evenings, I'd go for the kelly pochette. you can easily put the KP inside your birkin and pull it out for a night out if need be.

I am from the Philippines and I heard that there is a very long list of orders for birkins. Maybe I will just try my luck to be listed as well, or maybe, also, ask a friend in Switzerland to buy me one or order for me. Hope I will be able to get my first birkin the soonest possible time. Just talked to a Hermes SA in Basel, Switzerland through the help of my best friend who lives there. My order has already been placed, it is Soleil Hermes 35 cm birkin in Epsom Leather. The SA assured me that the longest that I can get my bag is summer of 2011 but will try her best to get it for me earlier than that time. OMG, I am soooo excited. Hope I can get it tomorrow, ha, ha, ha.Initially, I wanted a darker color but my friend suggested that since I am fond of gold jewelries, soleil would best suit me. And, she said that 35 cm is the perfect size for me. Well, I believe her. Thanks also to rox_rocks for her suggestion about the epsom leather. I will just buy the 30 cm kelly for my night party bag after my birkin. Yehey!

OH MY GOD I just died inside... That Birkin is totally tdf!!! I wonder if there's any hope of getting a Birkin when I go back home to visit
Hello Everyone! I went to Hermes Manila last week to check the actual color of Soleil, the color of the birkin which I have ordered in Basel, Switzerland. I am so happy to see it in actuality. I like the color and I could just imagine my birkin in gold hardware. The good news is my friend from Basel recently informed me that she will be coming for a vacation this coming September and she may be able to bring my birkin with her as her SA has assured her that she has already made arrangements for my birkin Soleil 35 in Epsom Leather to be ready for pick up in September in time for her vacation to the Philippines. OMG! Can't wait anymore. Hope it will materialize. Meantime, I bought 2 Hermes bangles when I went to Hermes Manila to match my birkin, yellow and white, called Ariodante bracelets. Love them so far, very versatile. They are similar to my LV inclusion gm bracelets except that they are plain and oval in shape. With my birkin matched with it, oh gosh, I think I will be in cloud 9 by then, LOL! By the way, my attending SA Angel told me that there will be new stocks in August. At the moment, there are no Birkins, Kellys and Lindys available.
